Hello

In June 05 We decided we wnted a puppy so we looked in our local ad paper and found an advert for labrador crosses. I rang the man and he told me the pups were crossed with a ponter. I asked what a pointer was and he said simlar to a spaniel.
We didnt have a clue realy so we went to have a look.  We fell in love with a dog and we braught him home and called him dooley. he was under nurished and in a poor condition, some friends and family thaught he wouldnt last very long and he was coverd n fleas he was so distressed. But we got him through it and he is now a beautiful dog.
He looks nothing like a Labrador or a pointer but he does look like an Italian greyhound, He is smaller than a geryhound but has the body, he is black broken with white, he has white paws and tip on his tale and he has a white breast.
Im looking for someone who can look at some pics of him to see what they think, Ive never seen an Italian Grey hound so im not sure on size.
Its a shame we dont know what he is cos he is a beatiful dog.
my email address is ant_cliffe@yahoo.com Id love someone to take a look
I live in County Durham so if there is anyone local I could show you him in person

thanx

Hi Cliffe,

If you want to see the breed standard for Italian Greyhound, follow the link, click on Breed standards, and then on Toys :D
You can also see the standard (with Piccy) for English Pointers and German Pointers :D

http://www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/

There's also some lovely pics of pointers here http://www.englishpointer.co.uk/Hall_of_fame.htm

As a guide tho, the Italian Greyhound is very small - around 14 inches ;)

Sounds to me he could be more Pointer than Lab :)

Do you have any pics of him on the net??

Have you had a look at pictures of whippets?  IF he is reminiscent of an Itialian Greyhound, butnot tiny, he may well be a whippet cross. There are lots of whippet people in Co. Durham - whereabouts are you and I will see if I can find someone not too far from you.

bye
Gwen
