I hope someone can help..... we bought a rescue staffie last year and every 10 days or so her tummy makes these howling, grumbling noises and she goes right off her food. Sometimes she'll have the runs with it and sometimes she'll fetch up this foamy white stuff. I've taken her to the vets twice about this and I got to totally different responses (and charged lots). They can't seem to pin point the problem but did rule out a bacterial problem and said that staffies are known for rumbling tummies and flatulance. I've changed her dry and wet food mix to Bakers Complete for sensitive stomachs but it still happens. I'm seriously wondering if the dog food is causing the problem and am seriously concidering feeding her on mostly human food, ie meat, veg, rice, fish and eggs. Anyone got any ideas? Feedback would be gratly appreciated. Many thanks.

It does sound like it could be the food ;)

I'd try Burns dog food first, they will send out samples :D (ask for all the varieties ;) ) so you can try it first.  Its very gentle on the tum and has so few ingredients there's little to upset the dog, excellent quality tho ;)  They also have an advice line and are very good about helping with feeding problems.

If you do a search on Bakers Complete on this site you'll get lots of info ;)

If you want to feed raw foods (meat, bones, veg etc) do a search on Barf on this site, there's loads of info :)

Hope this helps
