Topic Dog Boards / General / Best Insurance ???

Hi,

We are wanting to get our CKCS insured, who offers the best for value?
I expect that the cheaper the premium the lower the cover.
Just having a look round M&S seem to be good value and the cover looks fine.
Any other recommendations please
Thanks

Hi,

I have just been looking around all of the different insurers in prep for our pup, I have to say the PetPlan one looks good but is very expensive compared to M&S, with not much, if any, difference on cover.

I have heard M&S recommended many times as well, for being good at getting claims sorted out quickly with little fuss. I think we are going to go with M&S.

Sorry I know I am only mirroring what you have just said, but I have looked around at nearly every insurer and though some are cheaper than M&S, they seem to have the best cover for a reasonable price.

Good luck :D

Nat :)

i have a 8 month old ckcs and he is insured with sainsburys and it costs me about 9 pounds a month and the benefits are great.

I have no complaints about our More Than cover...We hadn't even made a payment because of 2 free months of cover when we made our first claim for £300+  The cheque arrived within a week...No problems at all.

In my experience pet plan are the best.

just left pet plan for M&S and cut the price by half with no change to the cover.
will do the same for the puppy too when hers runs out saved over £120 per year
pet plan are good but soooo expensive.

We do not have dog insurance - with 6 dogs, 3 of whom are elderly, the premiums would be prohibitive - we put some money away each month into a building society account and use that if we get a big vets bill.

Pet plan is brill, my brothers staffie got a toy lodged down her throat once and pet plan payed for the whole thing and were apparently very nice and co operative. In my opinion they are the best if you want an insurence you can count on.

We're on M&S, we used to be with More Than but after seeing M&S recommended here I had a peek.  The cover is similar for the two companies, but we can insure both dogs with M&S for a pound more than one dog with More Than.

i am with churchill, we were only with them for a month when we had a bill for £650 and they paid our vets with in a week. I pay £12.40 a month for a newfoundland dog. I would certainly recommend them

Hi, I have Petline they are with a company called 1stquote insurance, if you search on google for cheap pet insurance, they will come up.  I must admit I am in my second year, I have had a few claims from them, they have always been prompt in paying up, never a problem and are always very helpful.  I have been very happy with them I think for their "gold" (this is the top cover) it works out about £15.00 per month - they let you pay in monthly instalments which is handy.
