Can I ask what most of you do with regards your travelling to and from shows.

I am still new to showing but up in Fife, most of the shows well champs shows are down south.

I thought about buying a caravan but then I thought against it as i will travel myself unless I meet a exhibitor I could share travel and for company to keep me awake while I am driving.

I went to crufts this year and drove down in the morning by the time I got there I wanted to climb into a bench and sleep.. I drove back the same day I was shattered for about a week. :-)

I know I have pick a expensive hobby but it is not really the money it is making the journey as easy as possible. Am I wishing for a fairy god mother here.

Any suggestions most appricated..

Pam :-)

We tend to use the same B&Bs when going to shows( the locations of which are jealously guarded). Sharing with another exhibitor would make life easier but is still stressfull. As a rule of thumb anywhere over 3 hours we usually stay over.
We stayed in B&B at Blackpool and we were walking the dogs on the beach under the tower at 11pm.
( just in case anyone thinks I am an insomniac posting at 3.10am Im not. Ive just got in from work!!!)

Pam, I think there are some "show buses" that go to ch shows, and not just for Crufts, I'll post a phone no for you to try, on WH!! o.k.

it would make life so much easier if you found someone in the same group to travell with, its not much fun doing it all on your own-although i drive and my freind points, its better to have company so you can stop for a coffee-toilet etc, also as someone else said, if itys a long way we often stay over too, then we make a night of it, :D

Hi Dizzy thanks..Yes I will hopefully get something in order.

One of my new show freinds said she may travel with me so we will see how it unfolds but you are right it is all part of the fun..

I also like a natter so it helps..
