Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / border collie bitch puppy

Following recent death of my bitch at 18 yrs old (I had her since she was 8 wks old) I am seeking a bitch puppy to lavish love on.  She would be with me every day with only one and a half hours on her own which she would be accompanied by my other dog (an extremely friendly lurcher, who like me misses the company of a lively, energetic bitch)

Take your time and do the research. I would avoid dogs with strong working lines and maybe look more at the showing lines. I'm not sterotyping in anyway. Just passing on what I have learnt from when I got my first border collie. I contacted people who had litters and was turned down for a puppy because of their strong working instincts.
I now have two showline dogs and they are generally quieter with less of the working instinct in them.
However that is not to say that they do not need a large amount of mental stimulation. I show, do agility and flyball with them along with their walks and swimming.
Why don't you join and say which area you are in then I could suggest some breeders you might want to approach.
