I just brought my Lhasa apso puppy home on Monday (it is Wed.) She is almost 11 weeks old and very tiny. I haven't been able to get her to eat her food that the people gave me when I brought her home. She did however eat a treat, but that is the only thing since coming home. She won't even go drink water when she's thirsty. I put some on her tounge which helped her and she drank more but that was it. My dad also gave her some milk which she loved. I was just worried about her getting dehydrated. What should I do?

I have noticed that she is very mellow and laid back. She loves to play but doesn't need to all the time. She likes laying down and sitting/hiding in corners. I guess that makes her feel safe. Should I be worried that she's so mellow all the time and just likes to lay around most of the day? She won't play with her toys either. I feel like she's depressed almost.

Bathroom habits is another story. Everytime I take her out...she never seems to go. I've seen her go to the bathroom twice since coming home. Maybe she goes when I am not paying much attention. She sits at my feet when i take her out and doesn't seem to go. Am I doing everything I can? I need help!

The first thing I would do is get her up to the vets - puppies can take a few days to settle into their new home but if they are not eating or drinking at this young age it is not good for them and can sometimes be a sign of an upset tummy or other ailment.

Get her to the vets, explain what has been going on in full and they will check her over, take her temperature etc.

HTH, Good Luck with her, Tara x

have a look at the post in the general section  "advice for new puppy owners "here

if you scroll down theres a bit about what to expect when you bring a new puppy home :)

going to a new home can be very traumatic for puppys, new smells sounds etc.... no mum or litter mates.. it will take awhile for them to settle in its only natural.

congratulations on the new pup by the way :)
