Although we have kept Sam and Breeze seperate for 4 days, it would now seem the B has the runs. Luckily she has had no other symptoms that Sam had apart from this. Going to have to keep them seperated for a few more days :(
Spoke with the vet and going to give her some bland food for a couple of days and if it doesn't clear up, we are off to the vet. However, she did say this was normal in puppies to have diareoh, is this true?
Hi Sarah i haven't read your earlier posts on why your keeping them separate but to be honest it's not normal for them to have the runs. Puppies can dehydrate really quickly with the runs and sickness but since she's not being sick. I would say feed chicken and rice and a piece of toast which i think binds them abit.

If you look on the FurryPharm website they have quite large bottles of Kaogel liquid, exactly the same as the one you get from the vet, only a hundred times cheaper. You only need to syringe the exact dose into the pups mouth and it works like magic. If it does not work it could be EColi,Colitis etc., but even then this liquid is great and helps colitis sufferers enormously. If you want something quick, like NOW, you can buy the paediatric Kaolin from chemist, the one for babies.Mine like the strawberry flavour one.Another tip is to mix it in with a spoonful of yoghurt on a saucer and they may lick it,otherwise you can revert to the syringe again bought from a chemist.
hi there, i was just wondering.....i thought you wasnt supposed to let a dog eat bread? or is this an old wives tale? ive often wondered, as my pup is on a diet of rice and chicken at the moment and he hates it big time, so would he be ok eating a dry slice of toast now and again?

Mine eat bread. Any crusts or stale loaf-ends get rusked in the oven and used as dog biscuits.

Not eating bread goes back to pre-2nd WW days when the bleaching agent used in white bread would cause fits in dogs. That isn't used anymore, so bread is safe, if not particularly good for them (toast, of course, is fine) ;)

Not particularly good for them - think someone could tell my Yankee that - he keeps eating the loaves people leave in the park for the birds!!
