My 10month old pointer bitch appears to have come back into season. She had her first season at 6.5months and on the first day of her season disapeared during the day whilst at work with my boyfriend. As there is a dog at the workplace and another dog on the next door farm we took her to the vets to be injected. The vet told us that she would probably come into season again around Christmas. Is it normal for a bitch to come into season so soon after her previous one if she has been injected?

The thing is the injections do interefere with the hormones (that being the whole point), so the result can be either a season very soon again, or one much, much later -I know somebody whose bitch didn't have another season for 2 years. So it sounds normal to me and I wouldn't worry as long as she is well otherwise. :)
