When entering puppy breed classes, can you enter more than one, i.e. puppy AND junior?

yes :)

You can enter as many as you like as long as the dog (and handler and exhibitor) are eligable for the classes! :)

But I would advise against entering more than that - once you get past Junior you will be up again the 2 or 3 or 4 year old dogs with your 6 month old puppy (ages approximate of course!) and it is quite tiring for a young puppy as well. :-)

Yes, I had realized this, and it would be tiring for me too!  When we had horses we just entered youngsters in a couple of classes to give them experience without worrying too much about winning, and I just want to do that for now with my pup.

Thanks for all contributions.

Bear in mind, that if you win the puppy class and then come say 3rd in Junior but the  first two dogs are over 12 months. You still are an unbeaten puppy therefore entitled to go through for Best Puppy in Breed.

With my own numerically small breed I would enter puppy and maybe junior plus the puppy stakes class.  The stakes gives your dog a chance to be in with lots of other dogs and they take a fir time so they leqarn to relax in a class.  You also learn a lot by watching other handlers of other breeds.

At open shows I tend to enter 3 classes, usually the lowest breed or not seperately classigied class, then the appropriate class for the group, eg AV Hound Puppy, and the  puppy stakes.  If they are all under diferent judges all the better.
