How come when you go to open shows you get rossettes and a little piece of card with your placing on it and when you go to champshows you just get a piece of card and no rossette.  Also if you've qualified for crufts you have to pay for it to be put on a rossette?

It always used to bug me when you go to a open pay a few quid and get rossettes then when you go a champ show you pay £20 and all you get is a piece of card!  To be honest I now give the rossettes to the dog to chew up as we become over run when we had 3 dogs being shown!

Yes it does really bug me the amount of dogs entered into a champshow over three days and they can't afford a rossette.

I always judge a show by the quality of its rosettes...or lack of them! Thame show had the best rosettes I have seen for ages, 3 tiered, 3 tails, really nice quality right down to 5th place. Whereas a scrappy piece of card at a champ show, wow wee! I think some of the best rosettes come from companion shows, recently went to one and won a 5th, really good quality, big rosette which we have saved because I like the colour (maybe would have preferred it even more if it had been red!!)

With what they charge for entry fees it doesn't seem fair but thats life. I must have saw you Susan in the ring getting your placing, were you in Minor Puppy bitch? My friend shows the same breed and I was speaking to her and watching the judging, is your puppy fawn as I'll remember more what the dog looked like than the handler.

Was there not a wee brindle bitch in your class as well. My friend is Julie McMenemy she shows Aralders Dougies Girl at Cairnmount in Open bitch and a young dog she bred herself Cairnmount Glen Fiddich. She didn't do too well on Saturday but then neither did I. What show are you next at are you doing Midland Counties?
