What a fab day we had at the show today. The weather was great [for a change]. My friend and I kind of share the showing of our dogs  as she shows some of mine better than me and vice versa, so between us today [we are not well known so this doesn't happen to us ] we won bitch cc , bitch res cc and best puppy. Our other partner  in dogs won the dog cc and best of breed. We might as well retire now.

Yeah it was a great day. Not intending coming down to earth for a least a week!!!

Kai was acting the goat with a girl and twisted himself , hurting his back[no where near his shoulder]. he has been to the vet this morning and has to rest for a week and have anti inflammatories. . He is still as daft as ever and happy in himself. At least Jim [my vet] is more reasonably priced than show vets!!!!!!

Do you have to pay show vets ? I got the one at Bournemouth to look at Fagans paw as he had twisted it the night before he gave him a through going over told me to rest him for a week and I thanked the man and left - I didnt realise I should have paid

The vet had a look at Kai's back gave him a shot of rimadoyl [spelling!!]  and a letter for my own vet. it cost £25. He still didn't know what was wrong and my boy still had to go to my own vet today. I was scared he had done something really bad so didn't think twice about it. Has anyone else had experiance of show vets?

congratulations! what a day do you want to pass some of your luck on?

I took my boy to the vet a National Gundog, as he had rubbed his eye on the way to the show, he gave him a few days suply of Synulox tablets (i think!) and said if it dosent get better take him to the vet, well mum asked about paying and he said dont worry about it!
