How would i find out about these and obtain the schedules? Would they be in the dog papers? i know its early and i have to get our girl IKC reg yet.
But we think its easier living on Anglesey to go to Ireland than it is for many shows on the mainland!!

Im interested in this for next year too (is it August ? ) I didnt realise the dogs have to be IKC reg. how do you go about doing that ?

As far as i know the St Paddys day one is :D round st paddys day and the Munster circuit is in June.
3 shows over a week every other day.
I have emailed the LKC so will let you know when i do. Unless its Northern Island you have to register your dog with the LKC.

I'll let you know tomorrow Claire i'll give them a quick call, we really want to do the munster circuit my husband especially for the camping :D (he loves camping! ewww)
The munster circuit again will be held in august starting around the 20th i think. And you have to register your dog with the IKC before you can show in ireland. ;) If you want any more info just ask.

Thanks very much Sarah.
No doubt i will have more questions tomorrow :D

yes, I love camping too. My ex OH bought a caravan especially for shows (so he had a bit of comfort whilst I was off doing doggy stuff, we have split now (my decision ;) ) so its back to the tent for me :D :D

Mygirl I can tell you now that it is NOT cheaper to do the circuit. All in all for the few days I would think it cost me around £800, that was for a weeks holiday with a few shows thrown in.
Transporting your vehicle on the ferry is expensive, especially as it's at the most expensive time of year. I also did over a 1,000 miles on the circuit, just add up how much that would cost in petrol money and especially add up what it would cost next year. Oh and this was a campervan so I didn't have to pay much for staying over night anywhere.
It's not like the shows over here. Like a little open show but out in the cold, wind and rain :d Have to admit though even though I say all this I did quite enjoy it and I hope to go next year, fingers crossed.

So long as you've applied for your dogs irish registration, you can just put registration applied for on the entry forms.

My girl
write to the irish kennel club and ask them for the list of shows for 2006 and a registration form for your dog
you will then get the addresses of the secretaries and ask them to post you schedules
ringing the IKC is a trial
you get put on hold for ages and then get cut off
oh and send a stamped addressed envelope

Thanks very much everyone, Mari funny enough i just got put on hold for ages so i hung up :D :D i will write to them instead :D

To reg your dog with the IKC you need to get them to send you a pink form (reg form) and also will need to send them the KC reg documents enclosed and a reg fee, as far as I can remember its 20euro (but dont quote me) :D!!! this is what I had to do with Pippin as he was bred in N.I. and I reg him in my name first with the KC and then the IKC. Let me know if you need any more help! :)

Thank you Carol, i have sent an SAE off this morning so i'll no doubt get stuck on the form when it arrives
There are a few of us that would like to go over so it will be shared costs to make it cheaper (we have a large van/minibus).
And to my husband its any excuse for camping whatever the cost!
