Where did you qualify T-T-S ?  I was just wondering because I know Alfies breeder is trying to qualify her Irish and I think she was at Ardingly today, just wondered if she had qualified.

Well dont by the way, sorry I dont know much more about it than you, I assume it is similar to pro-plan pup of the year, that sort of thing :)

It was at Newmarket.  I only entered as she is still being naughty since having her puppies so we were doing it for practice.

So if anyone can tell me what it is all about I would appreciate it.  Is it a knockout type competition?  Do we know the judges beforehand?  That kind of thing.

Hi T-T-S
I qualified my Beardie a few years ago for the semi's and then the actual final. Tho' the rules have changed slightly now (in that the actual final is now held at Crufts, as apposed to on the evening of Discover Dogs, as it was a few years back).
The judges are usually just anounced the week before, usually 2 well known all-rounders. When I was at the event, each exhibitors number was drawn at the event, to decide which judge they went under in the semi-final. The judge then picks 10 from their allocation of dogs (approx 35) to go forward to the final. It was a great feeling the first time (like being in the group ring at Crufts, with all the camera's on you, a good crowd, announcements etc).

If you need any more info, PM me!

lol Kay
