Hi Tray - keep them apart! He's quite old enough to sire a litter on her. Keep them apart even when you're in the house with them - a moment's complacency and the deed can be done. Have you friends or relatives who could board your boy till the bitch's season is over? It'd be a lot easier on all of you.

You must keep them apart until your girl's season has finished.  At 6 1/2 mo, he is very much capable of getting her pregnant.

As Jeangenie has said, can you send him to live with friends or relatives until her season is over?  You also need to consider the long term issues of having an entire bitch and an entire dog otherwise you will face these problems at every season.
