hello everyone  i have just recently joined this site and i must say i find the imformation and advice i have read really helpful. my bitch  had a litter of 6 pups.tomorrow the last ones go to start thier new lives
i will sadly miss them, i am worried that my bitch will miss them too  do i clear every trace away of the pups so she cant smell them any more or clear them away gradually? any advice would be very helpful

Hi there,
It is so sad when the last of your pups fly the nest :( But just wait till all the e-mails start flooding in with pictures and news of how well they are doing!
My bitch didn't pine for her puppies in the slightest! She waved them off at the door and then looked at me with that "THANK GOD - now, see all those toys you had for the puppies...can I have them now?? Can I? Please!" look in her face!
When my last pup left, I had my husband clear the kitchen of the pen, the bedding, the stacks of leftover property guides (such wonderful puppy pen liners they made! - I am sure the estate agents thought there was a property boom in my area due to all the guides I snaffled!) and life carried on completely as normal. I am sure your bitch will be just fine - you on the other hand might need a little more time to adjust to actually having more than 5 minutes to yourself in one day!!
Good Luck!

To be honest I think she may be glad of some time to herself. We recently sold 4 Bichon pups and when the last one went Mums face was a picture. I think she was glad to see the back of them and now she knows she is allowed back on the settee at night. So spoilt lol

Well we have just one left who is staying until the end of the month before going to his new home.

Mum seems more incluned to be with him, but doesn't appear to miss the others.  she may mis him as she may think he is staying for good.

Past experience tells me that we miss them more than the Mums seem to.

I can vouch for the fun of getting the photos and emails.
