hi all, libbi (sbt) has not been herself 4 a few days quite quiet which is unlike her , of her food, has had the runs, and has been sick a few times, thought maybe a bug, went 2 give her some kisses and cuddles earlier and noticed she had lumps on her head and her fur has gone a bit rank, just looked again and her whole body is covered , it looks just like she has loads of spots under the skin and they r pushing her fur out, daughter came home from school and started crying cause she looks so bad . has anyone got any ideas on what this could be
,i thought maybe an allergic reaction 2 something?
- By Harmony Date 16.09.05 12:03 UTC
Sorry about Libby :-(  Personally I would give an antihistamine & get her down to your Vets NOW so that they can investigate further.  I would also be very worried that she's had the runs for so long.

Fingers crossed for you.

thanks for the reply, i say the runs ,i dont mean she has been going all the time ,( should explain my self better lol)also forgot 2 say she has been scratching quite a bit today
thanks dina x
oh yes she has been eating a few daddy long legs of late would this affect her ?
- By Harmony Date 16.09.05 12:11 UTC
I would still get her to the Vets this afternoon Dina ~ whatever is happening with her is obviously getting worse & she'll be feeling pretty miserable I should imagine.

Edit to say; no I don't think the Daddy Long Legs will have done her any harm :-)

Please take her to the Vets

Molly always chases wasps, she was bitten a few times on wednesday and her face was so swollen, and three lumps on her snout! She was also sick quite a few times, even yesterday she was still being sick and had dire rear. She is much better today thanks to the vets, and is back to her old self again.

Im sure that is the best thing to do. Does sound like an alergic reaction to something.

hi all ,just got in ,u were all right she had an allergic reaction 2 something , but what still not sure of. she also has a bug , so am 2 feed her on chicken and rice for the next few days.
now they said chicken and rice but would tuna and rice be ok?
have 2 keep an eye on her 4 the next few days if she doesnt get any better have 2 take her back.
thanks 2 u all 4 your help dina x

Hi cupcake. Good to hear that it is not too serious. Tuna is not really suitable, chicken or white fish are normally suggested as they are really easy to digest and dont upset the stomach further. At a pinch mine have tesco fish fingers grilled with the breadcrumb removed :o

thanks 4 that, can u tell her that tuna is of the menu please lol, will have 2 pop out and get some chicken 4 her.
my other sbt is really in the mood 4 a play ,poor little libbi just cant be bothered ahhh bless, so when u tell libbi about the tuna just have a word with molly please lol
dina x

Glad you got sorted at the Vets & hopefully Libby will be feeling much brighter soon :-)
- By Bluebell [gb] Date 16.09.05 17:10 UTC
LOL cupcake. Chicken and White fish are REALLY YUMMY, if the dogs dont eat it you will :D

Tuna is not highly recommended to feed regually as it is possible that it will have high concentrations of heavy metals, same goes for humans.

i dont eat any meat or fish, im sure my daughter will have it , if the dogs dont. normally have tuna once a week is that 2 much ? its a day of learning 4 me lol
- By Bluebell [gb] Date 16.09.05 17:54 UTC
Well you need to convince the dogs its yummy anyway :D I dont know what is recomended for dogs but we certainly eat tuna once a week (puzzles over living without EVER having a tuna sarnie )

Hope she soon makes a full recovery.  I have quite an allergic dog he can't even eat marrow in marrow bones or egg, but Daddy longlegs he is eating by the hundreds as is my 13 week old pup and they are having no ill effects.  Good job as theres millions in the garden so no way of stopping them.
