Just booked my 8 month old JR in to be castrated on 26th of this month and I will have to keep him seperated from my RottiexGSD 14 week old pup as she likes to play very rough with him, and constantly pounces on him with those needle teeth of hers for 10 days until his stitches are out, also I know he will go after his stitches so he will have to wear a "Buster" collar and the pup would like nothing more than to try and drag that off his head.
Any tips as I try seperating them now for short periods but if they can see each other through the frosted glass we have in the doors they scratch them to bits trying to get to each other.
They are fine going out in the garden seperatly and for walks seperatly, its just when they both know they are in the house together.
I can see this being the longest 10 days of my life.

I am having to keep my puppy seperated from my staffie as the staf has an infection. I have a wire panel off her playpen so that they can see each other, but not get too close. It seperates the kitchen and the lounge.

I will feel so guilty as to who is shut away alone though.  One will be with me the other isolated.

I spend time with both. My staf will go upstairs when he has had enough, so I close the door and let the pup in. When she gets tired, she goes back into her pen to sleep and then he comes down again for a little while when the coast is clear :) this is working for us, but then he is poorly and that maybe why its working, the last thing he wants right now is a bouncing baby. I have to do this for 4 more days.

There maybe a better way for you though, this is just my current experience.
