Re the discussion on giving honey to puppies I've found this link : http://www.honeyassociation.com/state6.htm The bacteria is botulism, so not something to mess with in my opinion.

Isn't it strange how honey in one form is cause for concern yet in another it has wonderful healing properties.
Our local hospital uses honey bandages for drawing out and clearing up infection and I've always used honey and camomile tea/cream for treating nappy rash. The camomile calms the skin and the honey is a natural antiseptic.
My HV always told me to avoid giving the children real honey until they were 12mths old but never told me why - now I know :)

IT's because botulism is a bacteria which affects the gut, and this is the only place it is a risk to health... And then only if your immune system isn't what it should be (as in the young and sick and elderly)

Like asprin as well really bad for animals but seems to be a life saver for us humans my husband
takes this every day and honey on wounds is very good
