Trin has discovered the joys of tracking and I'd like to encourage it. Does anyone have any personal recommendations for a good harness? I've looked at dozens online, but you never know how it's going to fit until it's too late. She's a GSD x, and there's obviously loads of pictures of gsd's wearing these harnesses, but she has more of a husky shaped body than a standard GSD.
Thanks :-)

Most tracking harnesses are very adjustable. Might be worth contacting the suppliers asking what measurements are used when producing the harnesses like length of back, chest measurements etc then measure your dog to see if he fits within their parameters
Hiya,
Another bod bitten by the tracking bug - hurrah!
I have bought 2 harnesses from different people in the last 5 years, both are very good and both are recommended. The first is from a company called Dragon manufacturing, and the second is from pet-needs. Both are on line and both are extremely helpful. My friend got her westie's leather tracking harness from pet-needs by giving them the measurements, they'll make most things if you ask!
Ali :)
p.s both of mine are leather, although my cocker puppy has a nylon one which is ok until she grows a bit!

I have mine custom made by a saddler.
As long as you tell the saddler what you want they will take measurements and make one to fit.
Alternatively you can buy an off the peg one, they do not fit just GSDs but that size of dog, unless it has some peculiarities. So for example a standard off the peg large size will fit a variety of breeds including gundogs etc.
Cheap webbing ones are available from Pets at Home. A well made, english bridle leather, hand stitched will cost around £40 but will last you forever. You can get cheaper ones made from lower quality leather and riveted instead of stitched.
