Just on my way to pick up an 8 week old Border Terrier x Jack Russell puppy, sold to a family by our local puppy farmer.

Woman can't cope with it, she's given it all of three days!!!!  She has phoned the RSPCA who par for the course, can't have it for at at least three months, and she sounds the sort of woman who will dump it if she doesn't find somewhere for it. Breeder, if you can call them that, doesn't want to know, surprise surprise.

So guess who is the mug who said I'll take it in. Mind I'm off to Darlington tomorrow so talk about the wrong timing.

I'm going to have to isolate the poor little thing as gods knows what it is harbouring.

Just had to let off steam and it seemed that CD was the place to do it.

Bl**dy Puppy Farmers, bl**dy impulse buyers, bl**dy rotten world!!!!!!!!!

Thats awful :( You have my utmost respect for taking on the little mite, poor thing has been lucky you were able to be there for it.

Chin up, what goes around comes around.

Thanks Liberty

I am just boiling at the moment, but I suppose I'll simmer down in time.

What a cruel world we all live in.  Poor little mite didn't ask to be born and certainly deserves more than its getting at the moment.

Well done to you for taking on this little one. The whole situation stinks :(

Hope it all works out :)

This little pup has found a good home to go to. Its a sad world where people can get away with this kind of behaviour.

It's amazing what people do.  I've known even worse than that but people would be soooo shocked at the time the pup was with them and who had it, I can't say anything!!!

If you are looking for a home for him, put him on Rescue Me on Agility Net.  This is just the type of mini dog which could well find a good home on there as a mini agility dog.

Thanks Sandra, might try that if all else fails.

I have some irons in the fire with BT Welfare at the moment.

Will let you all know how he is when he arrives here this afternoon.

Great idea Sandra.  Sounds like the sort of cross that will be up for fun and mischief.

Laddy Dazzle, I do admire people like you for their dedication.  What a lucky little chap to have found you to help him out.

Welll he's here.  But he's the funniest BT x JR I've ever seen.  Jet Black Labrador type with big ears and humungous feet.  The puppy farmers had given these people a scrappy bit of paper that said he was 3/4 Border T, 1/8th Jack Russell and something that looked like 1/8th Puli or Poodle.  But they did say there were a number of black labs running around the place, so who knows.  Best bit of all was that they had paid £175.00 for the privilege of having him for 3 days.  According to them he pee'd and pooed too much for them to cope!!!!

Looks healthy enough but definitely needs worming, so hopefully once that is done we can investigate homing him.  Unfortunately it looks as if BT Welfare is now out of the window, so other avenues to explore over the next few days.

I suppose if anything is to be gained from this, is that this posting might warn both breeders and purchasers of what can happen to crossbreeds.

Well done for rescuing him! It does sound like he might be a possible agility dog with all that terrier in him, I bet he'll have lots of energy! :-)
