Hi everyone,
My dog is on JWB, but over the last few weeks she seems to be really getting bored with it, is there anything i can add to spice it up a bit? She does have a sensitive stomach, so i do have to go careful with the things i give her. Is there any good quality wet food that i could give her just to give her a bit of variety?
Any suggestions?
Cheers

Do you buy that in tins or is it pouches or something?

try mixing a little bit of tripe with it.
Pilchards with tomato sauce or tuna or just gravy
Hi Debbie, Nature diet comes in trays and is easily available from Pets at Home and most pet stores. I would stick to Lamb and rice or fish and rice variety for her stomach.
Kind Regards, Clare

Hi Clare,
Ok thanks for that, does your EBT have natures, does he get on well with it?
Thanks
Debbie
Hi Debbie, yes Julius gets Nature Diet lamb and rice and loves it! There is absolutely nothing artificial added and it is the closest IMO to a natural diet (barf). If you do decide to introduce a new food do it gradually over a two week period If not they will have the trots!! Clare
Hi Debbie... word of warning go careful opening the pack of nature diet, theres definately a knack to it if you want to keep your fingers :D

Hi Clare/janeandkai,
Ok will try it then, thank you for your help!
Cheers
I had scraps of ham, chicken, hot dogs, beef, grated carrot, steamed brocolli and cauliflower, sausages ..... anything really!

You could try a dollop of live natural yoghurt too, good for them and avoids messing with the protein levels - and because they seem to love it, of course.

As well as Nature Diet, Nature's Menu is a big hit with my doggies. It's in a pouch and I always find it next to the Nature Diet in Pets At Home.
Poppy prefered Nature's Menu to Nature Diet. She just sniffed the ND and walked away, but ate the NM.

I wouldn't advise Natures Menu as it gave my Cav a nasty case of colitis. I gave the half pouch I had left to my Yankee who eats EVERYTHING, even curries he finds in the park, rotten fish, and large amounts of mouldy bread, and it upset even his stomach!!
Mine have sardines or pilchards a couple of times a week. They also get steamed veggies, I do extra just for them, and pretty much any left over scraps. I used to give them naturmes menu but I think they changed the manufacturer earlier this year and now it makes mine ill :-( I have tried the nature diet and have no problems with that or with opening the packs ;-) The two adults also get raw tripe in the winter as one of them tends to lose weight very easily, haven't tried the pup on it yet though

Don't know if that's the same Natures Menu we use as I buy it frozen, same firm makes Tripe and other varieties. Feed it with Wholebake biscuit (mail order) and its the nearest I found to barf without spending hours on doing the veg!!!. Daughter - who still lives at home has 10 yr Rott who 2 vets have diagnosed as clinically hyper, if she has ANYTHING with artificial preservatives or colouring it has the same effect as yellow colouring does on some kids - ever tried flying an 8 stone Rott on the end of a lead?
Good fun!
Chris
I would not add anything, JWB is a "complete food". Try feeding something different for a meal, like Raw vegetables and raw chicken.

As long as what you feed is also complete, I can't see what harm mixing some other dog food in would cause. However, I can see how feeding something completely different for a meal might cause an upset stomach. It's not going to be nutritionally any different than adding a small amount of something to the JW on a regular basis anyway.
Yup that's what we do as well - they get partial pouch of Natures Diet with the JWB meal.
Wendy (been doing this a year and never had a problem with the Natures Diet)
