I think that you need to do all of the above and don't want to be sarcastic but you need to know a lot more about the breed, firstly re. the spelling. Is your dog KC registered, if not most people who care about the breed would not want to use your dog. Do you know his lines and if they have had the necessary health tests etc.?

Speaking for years of experience with the breed lets look at your options.
I too want to look at this logically with out sounding sarcastic.
First of all he needs to have his hips scored, and this can be done by your vet
after he is 12 months of age. This is an x-ray taken of the hips to check that
your dog does not have hip dysplacia.
Second you need to get a good knowledge on his pedigree and do some research
into breed health problems. Knowledge on where eye problems are in the breed,
or auto immune disease. So contact his breeder and ask more about his parentage.
He may well have a fantastic pedigree.
Check his KC registration documents and see if he has a breeding endorsement placed
on his documentation. Nearly all the responsible breeders in the UK now put these on
their dogs and bitches.
Third you need to ask yourself why you want to breed him. I own a lovely dog which
I hold at stud, but he is a menace when bitches come into season, he looses weight,
he wont eat and he whittles day and night. I sometimes have to send him into kennels.
This can be costly.
If you think that your dog has something to offer the breed, then why not start to show
him at some open shows or championship dog shows to see if indeed he is the excellent
specimen of the breed.
The problem you will be up against is that most people breeding their Weimaraners
show them. So your dog will be up against tons of excellent stud dogs. You only have to look
at this site under stud dogs to see all the excellent stud dogs out there already.
I really dont advocate you breed your dog, you need to do some more research into the breed.
But we all have do do in life what we feel is right in the end day.
Weimaraner rescue is always full of puppies, and older dogs, from even the responsible breeders
in the Uk. Do not be another statistic.
If you go about this in the right way, then I am sure you wont have a problem, go about it the wrong
way and no one will recommend your dog.
