my springer spaniel puppy is constantly itchy and gnaws at herself because of it. when we got her she had lice so we put frontline spot-on on her and that seemed to do the trick for a week or two but ever since she gnaws herself more and more. she is due another dose in a few days if i give it to her on a monthly basis. i checked the spots where she is especially itchy but can't find much except a few pieces of brown dandruff, or at least i think it's dandruff. some one told me that it might be a puppy version of cradle cap. never heard of it before but could it be something along those lines and if yes, what can i do to ease her discomfort? i feed her pedigree dry puppy food and her coat is nice and glossy so i can only assume that the food agrees with her. any help will be appreciated.

It could be something in the environment (indoor cleaning solutions, carpet fibres etc or pollen, certain plants in the garden).

Has your vet done a skin scrape on her?  Might be worth discussing with him.  Regards, Teri :)

I have heard washing the bedding in a biological powder can do it too.
