Dont know what breed you have, but mine should have dark hazel eyes. To be honest I cant remember when they darkened, but at no stage were they yellow - the blue just got darker and turned to a browny colour. I had one whose eyes were a little greenish, and he ended with a paler hazel.
e.s.s. when i say yellow they are a dirty colour yellow more mustard

I've known eyes to darken from yellow to amber over several years.

At 4 months old I would expect eyes to already have darkened....although it may be different in other breeds I suppose

In my breed, eyes can continue to darken throughout a dog's lifetime - means you have to be very patient in the show ring sometimes!

thanks for replys a breeder of ess has said if there is a dark rim round the eye ,eye will darken and can take up to the age of 2 in our breed to be certain of how brown they will be
I've had springers and the most recent liver and white ones eyes didn't turn hazel until he was about 13 months.

I recently found out from the breeder of my Beardie pup that her eyes will darken from the age 2-3yrs
