My girls puppies are now 4 weeks old and are absolutely thriving. She's been a wonderful mother, still cleaning wee's, not poo's (I don't blame her!!) and generally doing everything she should be. I started weaning the puppies at 3 weeks and Mum is still feeding them.
Yesterday she decided to regurgitate her breakfast for the puppies! now I know some bitches do this and I'm now having to keep her away from them for about an hour after she's eaten. She is getting frantic trying to get into the pen everytime she eats something, which is a bit upsetting because she obviously thinks she's doing the right thing and in a way she is. My daughter gave her a gravy bone this morning (without me knowing), I was in the next room, came through and there was a 4 week old puppy attempting to eat a gravy bone! Every time she has eaten something today she has been quite upset because she can't get in the pen to regurgitate her food, does anyone know how long this will go on for?
Also tonight she went upstairs to my daughters bedroom and stole a little cuddly pengiun toy off her bed and promptly brought it to the whelping box/pen, I let her in and she gave the toy to her babies, does anyone else's bitch do this!

Every time my girl went out for the toilet she brought another cuddly toy into the whelping box - I couldn't decide if they were presents for the puppies or because she wanted more puppies!
