Hi I have two labs  mum and daughter they have  both always been walked together, but I am trying to walk them separetly as Pepper the pup wont obey anything I say to her even with treats she  is too  "obsessed " with mum.So Cleo the mum  goes first walk about an hour and then Pepper, only Pepper  is not the big bouncy naughty pup on her own she is timid and very wary of people  shes not at all like that when Cleos about  shes  always the first to go up and meet and greet people  Only today I am a bit worried about her  a man asked could he pet her,  she was on lead and I said no she is very wary of people so he bends down and tries to stroke her and yes she bites his hand (omg )I was stunned I apologized to him and he said it was fine he was warned ,only now I dont know what to do. Do I start taking both dogs together again or carry on with seperate walks . Thanks in advance

If you only take pepper out with her mum then she will  never gain any confidence ;) keep taking her out on her own and try to let her have time to watch people from a distance, park bench or similar :) try taking treats for people to drop for her (not give her, this may be too much at first) it takes time and patience to help a pup gain confidence.  You could try taking her out for shorter times but more often ;)  - say 10 mins, but four times a day, instead of one half hour walk, that way she'll have 4 opportunities in a day to get used to going out :)  Is it possible to take her to a training class?  (without mum) she would then have time to watch people and their dogs without them wanting to fuss her and the trainer would also be able to help you :)
