I have a Bichon Frise he is five now. When i got my bichon it i was in a hurry as we had had a loss in the family. I was stupid looking back as i went to the nearest breeder and ended up with a puppy farmed dog. My bichon is so healthy, happy and a jolly good dog all round. i was a lucky one. Since i have three other dogs and believe me no more puppy farms. Somebody i know is now looking for a bichon but does not want to travel far to get one i have told him that i will help with his homework in finding one but i looked on the K.C. breed site and they say height 11inches i have seen many a bichon that seems to be a lot bigger than that height. what do i look for in the puppies? as i always think the breed standard is at full grown height. also what sort of price are we looking at from a good breeder. I know he does not mind paying from a healthy litter, but i did say there are a lot of people that will try for as much as they can get. And also should it be the same amount for bitch and dog. Sorry for going on but i really do not want him to go to some backyard breeder person. appreciate any advice given.
Why not the ring the seretary of the nearest breed club and ask about puppies and prices. The secretaries are listed at the bottom of the breed standard.
There are 18 litters listed on the Kennel Club site right now, I've just looked.
