Hi,
My partner today was hearing of these blockades from wednesday onwards and people have already strated stocking up on bread and milk and of course petrol.
Is this not one off day then?

Earwigo, earwigo, earwigo!!!
Bet your life that by tomorrow, there will be no milk, bread, loo rolls and, of course petrol in any of the supermarkets!
It seems as if the merest whisper of blockades turns on the siege mentality.
Doesn't it occur to any of the people who are advertising "blockade starts 6am Wednesday, that the Oil Companies will send the tankers out on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday?????
Unfortunately, my main source of information - someone who works in a bulk terminal - is on holiday - or I would have been warned the minute that the local small hauliers/transport companies stepped up THEIR bulk supplies to their own depots - after all, THEY have to make sure they have enough fuel to carry out a blockade & run around in their personal 4x4s, don't they ;)

Was bad enough for us down in S-E Essex last time......all the roads were blocked - either lorries blockading refineries/depots caused havoc, or people queuing to get into garages! Not quite the same as you, I admit, and we too live in a rural backwater of this area, and the petrol gauge seemed to drop even quicker than usual!

My mum sells army surplus gear and she's sold out of gerry cans in the last few days.
I said I wasn't going to get hyped up and panic buy but it's very hard when you can see the shelves emptying before your eyes!
