which breed of dog do u think is the most agresive just seen 2 little westyterriers havin a right go at each other

Any dog that's allowed to behave in that way - breed is immaterial and it's usually not the dog's fault but either the foolish owner who has no regard or respect for other people's safety or the pond life that encourage aggression to boost their "macho" image.

There's no breed that I would call aggressive.  I know alot of agressive dogs, but I also know dogs the same breed that are so laid back and relaxed and friendly with everyone!

RedStaffy,

I am guessing from your name you own a Staffy, and are probably as fed up as all of the other Staffy owners with it always being the Staffs that get called agressive, but surely to try and name another breed as being 'the most agressive' is going to just cause more trouble?

I do really feel for Staff owners (the decent ones!) but sometimes I do think they don't always help themselves, why not, instead of trying to get the spot light put on another breed, get your own Staffy - who presumably has been correctly trained - and take him to places where people can see for themselves that they are not monsters. To come on to a dog forum where most people can see that the problem isn't with the dog, it's the owner, and try to prove your point, is just a waste of time and energy, you need to be showing non-doggy people how wonderful your breed can be.

JMHO :D

My cavaliers sometimes sound like a pack of killer dogs when they first get up & race up the garden & JD has been know to do an"Elvis"if  a dog he doesn't like gets in his face

But a whole breed being aggressive, nah, load of garbage, now the owners of certain breeds hm whole different ball game ;)

Depends what kind of aggression you mean!

The dogs ive met most likely to bite a person, i really cant think of specific breeds -- but every single one of them, has been badly brought up using fear, and to a dog, they have ALL been punished for warning humans tht they feel threatened or uncomfortable.

Dogs most likely to cause trouble with other dogs??

Well, again im not wanting to name breeds here, but in general either, small dogs who are owned by those who dont really want a 'dog', more a toy/baby/etc, those who think a small dog misbehaving is funny, and see no need to train them.

and those dogs people somehow believe are born ready trained,  border collies, golden retreivers.

Not that i think these dogs , or any dogs, are inherently more or less likely to bite another dog or a person, but border collies are the dog everyone thinks will train itself, goldies (and labs) are the ever friendly, you can do anything to it, fantastic family dog, and again, people dont realise this comes with trainig!
