I have a 6 mth old bitch who is a little cow when vistors are in the house but she won't bark at the door when someone knocks or bangs on my front bay window (and she is not deaf b4 anyone asks she knows what a biscuit is)am also having problems putting her back on her lead after her run in the park apart from that she is the best dog in the world any good tips on bulldogs will be most appreciated.

Thanks Simmone and Lola

She is very young to be barking at the door.  It will come with time.
With regards to putting her lead back on in the park - are you using treats?  Do you only put the lead on when it is time to go home?

Would like to know what you mean about having a hard time putting him back on lead , does he run away from you?

hi ive got an old tyme bulldogge nearly six mths ,she a devil when weve got visitors ,ive been using treats to stop her from jumping up ,sometimes it works sometimes not, ive not let mine off the lead yet as im still having problems walking her shes very stubborn we can be out for 3or 4 minns in the park and she sits and wont walk now shes taking to lying down she will head home at top speed ! if she wont settle when ive got visitors i usually put her in another room with a chew she seems to calm down

Simone
I wouldn't worry about her barking at the door...some dogs never do and to be honest it can be a blessing.
As for putting her lead on ....when you are out call her regularly.Put her lead on when you don't need to and then treat and release her again. At the momebt she associated the lead with the end of her walk/freee time so you need to teach her the lead means something good...ie food!!
With visitors you need to teach EVERYONE that enters the house not to touch or even make eye contact until the dog is sitting quietly and as soon as she does so to give her QUIET praise...nothing excitable!!Do not tell her off...that is still giving her attention. DO NOT banish her to another room...this will not solve the problem...just postpone it and make it worse.

what have they actualy been crossed with to have that name? I have seen 2 adults and a 12 months old one only a couple of eves ago, he said they were crossed with  bullmastiff but I could see no bull mastiff in any of them.

whats a ddb? I noticed they were bigger and from what I saw seemed much healthier than the Brit Bulldog but thats only 3 of them.

Hi Mabel we have the reverse of dogs, mine wants to stay out to play, she is only good when i take her somewhere new i have used the treats method and we are making progress as for vistors she is very protective over the family and when i tell her off sometimes she will bark or growl back at me so that's when i put her away and say she is a bad girl i think it's in there nature so be firm my breeder has been really good with info when i have a problem.

Are you going to mate your bitch?? My vet has put me off i don't know what to do?
