My bitch has been very ill lately, lots of strange things going on with her.Swelling feet and ears, loss of pigment on her nose and face, and an infection which resulted in her having emergency surgery to spay her. (Not Pyometra)
One of the tests the vet has taken is for SLE an autoimmune disorder.Don't have any results yet, but does anyone have experience of this. All advice will be appreciated.

I don't have any personal experience of SLE but have a friend who had a Cocker who lived with this condition for quite a few years (she lived a normal lifespan for a Cocker) - her SLE was managed with steroids. There is a lot of info on SLE on this site : http://www.vetinfo.com/dlupus.html

Hi,

I have an 8 year old Rotty who was recently diagnosed with Lupus. The area around his eyes have turned white as did his footpads and his nose is black with pink spots. He is beginning to get white spots up the bridge of his nose. He acts fine but is definately losing pigmentation. He was recently diagnosed with this problem. My vet said that eventually I would have to put him on a regime of steroids. He also has Hypothyrodism and takes medication twice a day for that.

I have decided to take him to a holistic vet for an opinion. Wish me luck!

Happy Owner of Two Rottys!
