Hi Sandy to be honest i know her food might of been cheap but you should have left her on it for a while, because it's really stressful for them changing homes.  Did you change the food gradually or did you just swap it straight over?  the pedigree chum might just be going straight through her or it could have been her vaccination.  Dont mess her around to much i'd say leave her on that for a few more days.  Chicken and rice is good for them if they have an upset tum.  What breed is she?

warm regards Susan

hi susan i changed it over a couple of days it does appear to be going straight through her we have stoped giving her the pouch wet food the vet said stick to the dry complete for now which she has had yesterday and today she is ok in herself she appeared to settle in to our home very well she has had the loose stools even before the innocs  by the way she is a lab and weighs 3.4kg

Yes i'd leave her on it for a few more days and see how she goes, if you get worried though and she goes down hill i'd take her back the vet and get your mind at ease.  Puppies can become dehydrated very fast.  Did she have loose stools when you got her off the breeder?  or has it only just started when you changed her food?  Also is it happening quite regularly or only when she's eaten when she'd usually go the toilet and they're runny or has she constantly got the squirts sorry.

Warm regards Susan

thanks for the advice, the vet blamed the pouches he wasnt concerned about her in anyway he said she was healthy and make sure she has plenty of water no milk etc which we do it appears to be since we changed the food its not just after food either you just get a bit panicky and worried about ifs, buts and maybes!!!
regards

Id not be surprised if its the fact that pedigree is rubbish food!

Dont change her yet, do some research into foods (the most expensive, the most advertised etc are not necessarily the best!), then change her to what you decide upon, adn stick to it.

Vaccs can upset pups, as can frequent food changes, as can the move from one home to another, as can a large dose of worms.

But pedigree is well known for giving dogs the squits, and whilst it might be more expensive than the food she was previously on, given that a can of pedigree complete meat is a min of just 4% meat -- you gotta wonder what the rest is! (heres a clue, water, sugar, oils, colourants flavourings cereals etc)

Hi Sandy,

Totally agree with Theemx on this ;)  Also when you change such a young pup's diet it has to be done very gradually - 10 days minimum, better over 14 days if they've already had an upset.

Regards, Teri :)

Pedigree food is very rich and i'm not surprised the pouches are going straight through you baby.
Pets at home own is very good and wheat gluten free, so less likely to upset tummies.
When I got my pups they were on Beta both from different breeders and they had runny tums.  i stopped it and put them straight onto PAH and they have been fine since.
