Anybody else noticing their pooch needs more frequent bathing this summer?  Seems our Lab just gets a bath and needs another one in about a week, without rolling in anything stinky.  No coat or skin problems so assuming it is just her oily coat.

Sounds like a lot of bathing to me !!

I'd be hairless if I had to bath mine that often it takes a whole day .......I've got Beardies

What shampoo do you use ?

Ah ha.  I didn't say I actually do bathe her once a week, just that she begins to get an odour that soon.  I just live with it till someone is coming to visit, or we are going to visit, and put covers on the furniture so it doesn't smell.  I am leery of too frequent bathing.

I had been using a dog shampoo meant to take odour out (lots of skunks and dead-rolling-in-things in our area) but it is no longer being made so I have to find something else.

Why would you be hairless?  Do you mean you would be pulling your own hair out in frustration?  LOL

yep I did mean my own hair !!

why I asked is I use plush puppy products and they are really good have tried groomers and others in the past but plush puppy (although a bit pricey) are good.
Its an Australian product and if you ring her up she gives good advice as to what to use.

Heres thier website if your interested :www.plushpuppy.co.uk

Dogs smell worse after a water down , doesn't help body odor much :/. I'm not sure if Labs have that distinct "doggy odor" like goldens do.

Hi JJ,

The no-rinse shampoos (liquid spray ons as opposed to "dry shampoos") are excellent for cleaning up coats and have a pleasant smell too :)  A few companies do them, including Plush Puppy.

Plush Puppy also do an Odour Muncher which is very good.

We sound like an advertisment for them, but they are very good products.
