A con!
Dawn.

Jack Russells should be predominantly white. I would be suspicious that another breed had got into the mix if it were any other colour. ;)

Around where I live (South Wales) there are a number of smooth haired and broken coated, short legged Jack Russels in Black and Tan and Tri coloured, some of them mostly white, but others quite heavily marked. I would think that breeding two heavily marked tri's together would result in similar range of colours as in other breeds of dogs and black with a little white would certainly be possible. Bear in mind these dogs are not Parson Russels, and are not registered with the KC as far as I know.
I live in South Wales too and in our area, as Dill says, A 'Jack Russell' can be all colours, all coat types - smooth and rough coated, short or longer legged!! As a matter of fact, all small terrier-type dogs are never referred to as 'Mongrels'...always 'Jack Russells' :)
