Lovely news Natalie - don't worry, time will pass very quickly I'm sure! It's quite frightening actually!!
Why not book yourself in for a smear or something equally as nasty in 6 weeks time, then the time will fly round cos you don't want it to!!! :D :D
Hey Keeley thats a good idea!!! Didn't think of doing that - I wonder why?

;) LOL

Whoo hoo!!! You are going to have to re-think Christmas, Natalie!!!:D :D :D No big Christmas tree, with decorations hanging from low branches, no presents piled up around it .....or you will have chewed lights, decorations, unwrapped, half-eaten pressies :D :D :D
Only kidding !! I'm so glad that you've had good news - now you can start planning!
Margot
LOL Margot I don't care right now, he can chew everything as long as he is here and no where else!!!! :D :D :D
OOOO I'm so excited, I haven't even told my little boy yet becasue he will be as excited as I am, and I really don't need encouraging at the moment!!! :D :D :D

HOORAY!!!! :D :D :D Glad you got good news Natalie!!! :D :D :D

good news,!!!!!!
this will be a very LONGGGGGGGG wait!!!
flynns breeder told me when she mated jess, then i sat fingers crossed, legs crossed for the looooonnngggg weeks to pass till they were born.
i had pick & wanted to go at 5weeks,but managed god knows how to last till 4weeks,then i went each week to see him till he was 8 weeks
i was dreaming about them every night!
I am trying to be calm BUT I CAN'T!!!!!! :D
I haven't even replied to the breeders email yet, because I know it will be a load of gobbledegook!!! LOL
Michelled, it is strange because normally I do dream about most things that are a big part of my awake life, but I have never dreamt about the pup, or my hubbie, and apart from my son they have both obviously been the biggest part of my awake life!!!!

I can't believe that after all of the waiting around and worrying, it is finally happening, and the pups will be born at the end of THIS MONTH!!! It does seem very real now, instead of it being 'when we get the pup we will do this that and the other', it is like Margot said, we can actually start planning and buying things!!!!!
I am going to go down into the town when I have gotten this grin off my face, else people will be looking at me funny! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

i bet once they are born you will start dreaming about them.....well that is IF you can actually get to sleep instead of lying there all night thinking about it!!! HOW EXCITING!!!! cant wait for you!!!! :)
Well at least we have a schedule as such now, pups born end of Sept, BRING HIM HOME MID NOVEMBER!!! :D :D :D !!!!!

Just to put a brake on things rember ther might not be any male pups, having had a number of one sex litters (all female interestingly), I would stick wityh the saying 'don't count your chicken til their hatched'. Of course you could have a girlie instead :D
Of course it would be dissapointing/devastating/absolutely unbearable ( ;) ) if for whatever reason we didn't end up with a pup from this litter, but we know we will end up with a pup sooner or later so it wouldn't be a waste of money buying the stuff now. Thanks for the heads up though :D

I am dying to know how the housework will cope ;-)
Blue, the house work went out of the window in March when I found CD!!!! :D :D :D
No seriously it will a bit of organising but we will manage, it might mean I have to stop spending so much time on here and eBay

My hubbie will sure be pleased!!!! :)

YEY excellent news!!!!!
Only 1 more month of natalie haping and praying...then it will be talk to what puppies look like!!!! :D
Only Joking Nat, your not that bad! :D
LOL oh I am Rox ;) :P
Awww my puppy has been made!!! I am sooooo excited!!! LOL
Hi Natalie,
Congratulations!
I'm new to Champdogs - but I think you mentioned in other posts that you're getting an Aussie? We got our puppy 6 weeks ago and it's been fab! Hard work sometimes ... but totally fab. Be prepared for lots of attention/questions when you take your puppy out and about ... so far she's been called a border collie (which I guess is to be expected), a husky (must be the blue eyes), and a dingo. A dingo I ask you!?!?!
We spent our 'waiting time' ordering stuff off the internet, taking multiple trips to the pet shop, and pestering the breeder for info/news/pictures ...
Yay, congrats!!
I can only imagine how excited you must be.... and I have it all to come

I can't wait! :D
Hi AussiesRock!!! :D
Welcome to CD :D I have mentioned once or twice we are getting an Aussie ;) :P
I know in a few months I will be just as fed up of the comments as everyone else gets, but right now I am so excited about his first walk I don't care what the busy-bodies say! We have had some funny comments just when we tell someone we are getting one from, "Oh is that one of those little things you put in your bag?"

to "Do you mean a German Shepherd?" ;)
What colour is your pup? Where did you get him/her? What name did you choose? Sorry, I am just being nosy!!!
Welcome again to CD, be warned it is very addictive!!! :D :D :D :D
Nat
Hi Natalie,
I'm 'working from home' today so really just spending loads of time with our puppy ...! She's a lovely little time-waster!
Our puppy is a red merle bitch with one blue eye. I really wanted a dog, but we weren't bothered by colour at all. But when we went to see them at 8 weeks her temperament was so lovely that we had no choice! She was totally into humans and inquisitive without being bolshy. My OH wants a go at agility (when she's older) and I' ve always fancied a go at obediance ... I'm pretty sure she's going to learn the ropes a lot quicker than me!
We've had her 6.5 weeks now ... and I can't imagine life without her around (mostly curled up on my feet). She's exactly what people said ... a piece of very huggable velcro!
Do you know what you are looking for in your puppy? Dog or Bitch? Are you planning on showing/agility/obediance/just enjoying?
Just about everyone we meet wants to talk about her .. which is great but it takes ages to get anywhere! We've taken her everywhere with us (including a very posh wedding!).
We've had one bad encounter - and it wasn't her it was a busy-body. We were in town on a Saturday and although she was reserved, once she said hello she loved all the attention. Then someone came up and told us how cruel we were bringing such a young puppy (14 weeks) into town on such a busy day. How we were terrible owners and how we should wait until she was much older. This was when she was literally walking sideways 'cause her little bum was wiggling so much! I had dogs growing up ... but my OH was very shocked.
Anyhows ... I'd better get back to work ... congratulations again on your puppy ... the time will fly by and before you know it whirlwind of fur will descend and your life will never be the same again ...!

Hi peoples i am new here but love reading all the threads, going back to what was said earlier about your puppy getting mistaken for other breeds, While i was socilizing my husky, on one of the many pets at home carried visits my husky Oki got mistaken for an OWL an owl some people lol. I found it hillarious
Danielle
Welcome Oki :D
An owl?

LOL how strange!!!!
Hiya,
We are planning on a dog, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if there were no males, we can always get a male next time!!!! ;) And we haven't really got a certain colour in mind, our favourate colour changes every day, but must admit at the moment the black tri's are catching up with blue merles!!!
We are hoping to do some basic obedience and see how we get on with that, maybe a little bit of "back garden agility" - but no jumps! I want to do frisbee, flyball, and tricks, anything that the dog enjoys really!!! Just to keep him busy, obviously we won't be doing all of this until he is older, but maybe some of the simpler things like just rolling a frisbee along the floor and obviously the obedience when he is still young, there should be enouh to keep him ocupied for the first 12 months!
I would just ignore people like the lady in town, it isn't worth getting into a slanging match, or a state, over it. You know you are doing the best for your puppy, and as long as the puppy is fine, then it has nothing to do with anyone else!
Most people aren't too bothered really with me going on about the pup, most of my family are as excited as I am (for us) so I won't be stopping talking about him just yet!!! :)
Let us know how you get on with your pup, always nice to her new stories of Aussies!!!
Nat xxx

Hiya aussiesrock!!! (good name!)
I part own one aussie with my grandparents and also used to show her and now show their male! Have been in the breed now 6 years!!!!!!!!!
Would love to hear more about your aussie puppy. :) If you ever want to ask me any questions feel free to PM me or leave a message on here.
Natalie your not "that" bad. Your just enthusiastic and keen to learn....(look take my excuses I'm giving you!!!!!) :D ;)
Oh I know I am "that" bad Rox, I don't need excuses, my poor hubbie has put up with me being over the moon everytime we have taken a step closer, to then going moody and annoyed because it takes so long!!! My mum has got to the point where she asks if anything has happened with the pup BEFORE she asks how Thomas is!!! And my closest sister is now annoyed at me for waking her up to tell her the news this morning!!! And then there is everyone on CD, you must all be so fed up of me, I don't know why you put up with me!!!
Well it will all be over soon enough, we will have our pup at home, and then there will be question after question after question, but at least it won't be me moaning on about having to wait anymore!!! ;)
Thanks for trying to give me a way out though Rox!!!! :D :D :D

Ahhh well I guess we put up with you because more prospective owners might see it's good to wait for the right pup, because hopefully in 10 years time you'll be coming on here still talking about the same pup with little need to be on the health board because you have waited for a well bred dog! :) You are a influence to others....even if your hubby disagrees!
Ahhh poor thomas is ebing put after a cute unborn puppy!!!! Bet he doesn't care abit though!
How is the cat doing?
The cat is fine, we had a bit of trouble a few weeks ago with some fleas, but that is all sorted now (Thank goodness, nasty little beasts) she had settled down a bit on the climbing the curtain front, but the last few days she has perked up a bit and has started on them again, in fact she seems to be a bit hyper with everything at the moment! But that is kittens for you!!! :D
Natalie ... don't worry about talking about your puppy too much. I waited 10 years before the time was right and I could get a dog. And then it took us months to find a breed that was OK for me and OH, and then ages finding a breeder/waiting for the puppies to arrive.
My OH (and all our friends and family) nearly went spare with my over-excitement
But the wait was soooooo worth it!

WooooHooooo!! At last, the news you've been waiting for :D :D Right...no more talk of Christmas please til at least mid-December :D Enjoy your last few months in your nice, clean, tidy, sane household 'cos life is about to get that bit more noisy, hairy and muddy!! ;)
LOL Christmas can wait now till mid November, but then I will be running around trying to get everything organised!! In fact it can wait till tomorrow I have ordered some thing for my son that is due tomorrow, once I start I can't stop!!!

Totally understand where you are coming from Natalie
We went to see our boy at four weeks and chose him last night at 6 and a half weeks.
Now we have to wait another week to pick him up - agonising isn't the word (but I couldn't stop grinning after picking him last night!!)
Great news Nat :-) I'm so chuffed for you :-D November will be here before you know it ;-)
Thanks everyone who is waiting with me!!! I have just been down to the town, I was very good just picked up a couple more toys :D We don't have a proper pet shop, only market stalls but the market isn't on today so not much more I could have bought, but eBay had better watch out, I may buy too much for their system to take!!! ;) :P
Let me know if you find any strong/durable toys ... my puppy loves furry squeaky ones, but they just don't last. I bought one last week that lasted (literally) 30 seconds before there was fluff everywhere! We've tried so many different ones. Plastic and squeaky just don't hit the spot, and she's really not into kongs (even stuffed with yummy treats).
I haven't bought any squeakies, he has got a teddy which is an elephant with a rope for his tail to chew on, another soft toy with a rope as a tail, two kongs, a couple of nyla bones, and a rope thing with two big knots in each end :D I will let you know how they survive :D

Natalie, I'm so pleased you've had good news :) I'll have to tell Tara that she is going to be an Auntie again :D
Tara has just this minute come back from the 'beauty parlour' and looks wonderful :D I wouldn't normally bother but she has been very protective of her feet since the problems we had last year and she is a little horror when I groom her as she always insists on sitting down :D So, daughter took her in to be preened today :D What a little madam she looks :D However she is out in the garden now and will probably be green by the time she goes to training tonight :D :D
Keep us posted with puppy news :) Colin and Glynis were very good at sending pictures of 'puppy's progress' :)
Daisy
Thanks Daisy :D
I can't tell you how excited we are!!! My son keeps coming up to me and cuddleing me saying he is excited, and (almost) singing "We're getting a doggy called Ozzy"!!!!! LOL Bless him, he knows we are getting a dog, but he can't grasp that it will be in a couple of months, he doesn't know how long a month is!
I bet Tara looks smart - or looked smart should I say? LOL I will send her a picture of her nephew, as soon as we get one ;)
I am off to do some more eBaying!!! :D :D

Just been told they used a different dog, but he is a blue merle!! Whooooooo hooooooooooooooo and whooooooooooo hooooooooooooooooo again!!! I love blue merles!!!! :D :D :D :D :D LOL

Ooh - you better not get a blue merle, I'd die of jealousy :D :D
Daisy
I'll try my best Daisy, but sometimes you just can't help yourself!!! :D :D :D I can not believe I am more excited than I was this morning!!! I have just rang around everyone again and told them!!! :D :D :D I think I will be lucky if I get to the point of bringing the puppy home, with out someone taking out a contract on me!!!! LOL

Come on Natalie! You could try to muster a little excitement  :D
LOL Shaynlola, this is nothing you should see me!!!!! Even I am getting bored of grinning and making funny noises but I can't help it!!!! ;) :P
Hi Natalie, I am so glad for you, At long last. You sound so excited but no more than I thought you would.
I pm'd you a couple of weeks ago to see if you had any news and now you have. My girl is also due to whelp at the end of the month so I am also playing the waiting game. Congratulations any way.
Lynn
Do you know, I was PM-ing the people who had taken particular interest in our waiting game this morning, and I knew there were two more people who had asked a few weeks ago, and I just couldn't remember their names, you are one of them - sorry to who ever was the other one!!! :D
Yes as you can see, we have had the good news and pups are due end of this month, :D :D :D :D I would love to say the wait is over but I have already started counting down the days till she is due, so some more waiting yet!!! Then the last hurdle is to bring him home, but at least we now know that within 3 months (closer to 2 and a half months) we will have our own dog at home :D :D :D Just in time for Christmas!!!
How is your bitch doing? Have you had her scanned? You must be as excited and worried, if not more, than I am!!!
I am sorry but I have to say it one more time:
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Sorry, just had to get that off my chest before I go to bed!!! :D :D :D
Good night xxx
>> Just been told they used a different dog, but he is a blue merle!! Whooooooo hooooooooooooooo and whooooooooooo hooooooooooooooooo again!!! I love blue merles!!!!
Oooh - now i'm jealous! :D Congratulations :)

Childrens soft toyus from charity shops are a good buy, they ahve more regultions regarding safety than those for pets. At 50p a go they can last a day or two.
>At 50p a go they can last a day or two.
LOL I thought I might have been getting a few too many toys, now I will carry on, but not give them at the same time!!!
I couldn't sleep last night (so much for dreaming Micheld!!) I did get to sleep easily enough (the bottle of wine probably helped!!!!

) But then I woke up about 2 o'clock and that was it, I haven't been back to sleep! So now I am quite subdued but still bubbling inside!!! :D :D :D
I can't stop saying "A blue merle" :D :D :D :D :D Knowing my luck the perfect puppy for us, will be a red merle, which although I like them they are my least favourite colour! But who cares, as long as he is healthy and will put up with my son, we will be happy!!! :D
Hello again!
When we saw the litter at 4 weeks born we really wanted the brown tri boy ... and I wasn't that keen on red merle's. The breeder knew what we wanted in terms of temperament and recommended the red merle girl. When we met her at 8 weeks she was spot on! My OH was hooked the moment he laid eyes on her .. the other pups didn't get a look in. She's great with children, horses, tractors - pretty much takes everything in her wiggly-bum-stride.
We've had her a month and a half now and there's no way would I would swap her for the red tri boy ... and I think my OH would have a fit if I even suggested it!
Mind you, blue merles are stunning ...
I've sent the OH out to charity shops today to look for soft toys. 50p sounds better than the £5 or so that the pet stores charge!
You could always spend hours on the internet between now and November. I pretty much trawled all the aussie sites and borrowed a great book on Aussies (J.J.Hartnagle-Taylor "All About Aussies"). None of this calmed me down any though - just made me more excited!
I was just saying to Rox (ice_queen) I don't really care if he is green with pink spots (or was it pink with green spots, can't remember) as long as he is healthy and well tempered I am really not too bothered about the colour, but I do like the blue merles!!!!
LOL My hubbie would have a fit if he knew someone was encouraging me to spend more time non the internet!!! I am going to be on here a lot more for the next couple of weeks, hubbie put a new hard drive in the laptop last night and I forgot to ask him to back up everything on my favorites lists, so now I have to trawl through everything I have ever found/been given, and save it all again  There are things that I doubt I will ever find again!!! I had everything from where to buy crates at reasonable prices, to training pages, things on the pro's and con's of neutering, things on genetics, pictures of my favorite dogs, grooming guides, everything!!!!
