hi, I have a new puppy who has been at home now for 4 nights, I try and do everything that all the books ect say about the same routine for the day ect however I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to help, he has a crate which is his little den we put him to bed at night about 11.30 before that he has had his supper a vigirous play session the toilet and then a calm, when I get up in the morning about 6am he has weed and pooped everywhere and he is in a right mess everymorning I no he cannot hold himself all night but it cant be nice for him to stay all messy all night should I be getting up in the night and letting him out? some help would be great thanks Chelise

Hi Chelise,

I'm assuming he was around 8 weeks when you got him so yes, it would be better if you could get up during the night for him ;)  You will probably find he will be somewhere between 10-12 weeks before he remains clean overnight for say 6 hours - but some breeds are slower than others.
