I am really happy, in the last two weks we have had four different people comment on how well behaved Abby is. One lady said she has always been wary of Dobermanns but after meeting Abby she isnt going to worry so much. Finally all our hard work is starting to pay off, still working on recall and not eating small and furries but we are getting there I am really pleased as there were times when I didnt think we would ever get her trained and that she would remain a monster forever.
So to everyone who is having problems and feel like they have failed like I did there is light at the end of the tunnel and with time and patience you will get there.
Thank you to everyone on here for your advice for the last two years without your help I dont think we would have done as well as we have, I have learned so much from your advice that I feel when we eventually get another puppy we will be able to cope much better.

It does make me laugh though that people seem to comment on how good mine are when they have just not doen as they are told!

Well done abbysmum :) nice, isn't it?  and bluebell, I get that too!  People alwasy say how nice and well behaved my dogs are at pets at home, when remy's countersurfing at the checkout :D or a couple weeks back, I had a weimeraner owner ask me for advice because she'd seen how well behaved my "weim" was (my fawn dobe) - all he'd done was wait while I opened the boot door to put his lead on, then he went straight to sled dog mode!!  He was trying to trip me up all the time she was asking how I managed to train him so well, I was perplexed :D
