Anyone started their shopping yet? Have you not even thought about it yet? What are you planning for your kids/dogs?
Sorry - I am very bored waiting for the good news!!! :D
Yippeeee :D
Another Christmas person!! I thought I was the only one. I luurve christmas and the run up to it. I get so excited. Its a magical time of year :D I am one of those saddos who play cds of old christmas music from the 1st of December. The Bing Crosbys etc. I get more excited than the kids.
On christmas Eve I always sprinkle powder in my hallway and all over my front lawn then make OH walk around in his size 12's to make santa footprints!!!!!!!
ooH I feel all tingly just thinking about it!!
:D
LOLOLOL I thought I was mad!!! :P I do love Christmas normally by now I have at least started Christmas shopping, and certainly it all planned out what I am going to get everyone, but this year it has all been about the pup, and until I know if we will even have a pup this year I can't think about anything else!!! :D :D

Oh me to I love the old Xmas songs I get all teary :-)
I love the Disney Xmas collection also. I get my Xmas apron on and put my music on and get baking etc.
Only time of the year everyone is off. My OH and I always take a full 3 weeks off and really have a family affair.
:D
You can't beat the old music. And christmas isn't christmas without watching at least 1 of the following
The sound of Music
The Wizard of OZ
Mary Poppins
.........
I have a handmade nativity scene which has been passed through the generations. I even deck the wooden stable out with real straw. It has pride of place in my lounge :)
... or Annie :) Got them all on DVD so I can watch them when I want :D

I am a Christmas person too :D

Christmas??

Flippin heck, I hope your good news comes soon :D Posting topics about Christmas when it's barely September is likely to send the terminally disorganised like me over the edge!!
Is JG around? Maybe she knows a 'puppy-making' dance that could help your situation ;)
Yes, where are you MM? It always works for everyone else :D :D

I'm with you, totally disorganised :D :D
But I know someone who's finished her Christmas shopping a month ago

she starts in January

I tried it once but we forgot where we stashed all the pressies and had to buy new ones  :D :D we're still finding them 15 years later LOL
LOLOLOL Dill, I dont know what we will do with the presents this year, normally they just get stashed in the spare room, but my little one is old enough to find them in there this year. Knowing me there will be too many to hide on top of the wardrobe!!! Hmmm will have to have a think about that one!!!
Ssssshhhhh cant let my dogs know its about to come around again

Oh I am Mrs Christmas.. We go daft in our house. Not with the constant over spending but with the whole Xmasy spirit. We cook the whole 2 weeks, decorate everywhere and have a house full of people.
I was in A big Xmas shop on Monday having a look. It is a beautiful shop full of lovely items mostly from abroad. Nothing tacking in it. I came out all with a Christmas feeling .
I am off on holiday in 5 weeks and when I come back it will just be 8 weeks.
I have a second living room this year so am going to have 2 huge trees :-)))))
OH I am off to start my Christmas singing. I am the only female in my organisation so I drive the guys up the wall. Mind you if I wasn't hear knows where we would end up for our Xmas party as we always hold it in London and fly everyone down so planning takes a bit of time.
La la la la la la la la la la ( that is my winter wonderland singing ) ;-) :-D :-D
Well I am sat here, it is 16.15 it is nearly pitch black outside (because of rain clouds) lights are on, and I thought it must be time to get the trees down, and then realise we are going into September not December!!!!! I think I might just get the little one and put the Christmas music on!!!
Can you tell how fed up I am of waiting yet? ;)

It is sunny and 32 degrees here :(
It is absolutely tipping it down and storming here :( It isn't cold just wet and horrible.

Well, seeing as it is an absolutely beautiful day here - sun shining, temp 32, very slight breeze, have been sitting outside, soaking in the rays and have just come in for a cup of tea, I will indulge you Natalie, seeing as it is tipping down with rain where you are!
I would have saved this for nearer Christmas, but here you are - to get you into the "puppy paradise" mood at Christmas:- :D :D :D :D :D
Dog-walking in a Winter Wonderland (to the tune of "Winter Wonderland")
Name tags ring, are you listening ?
in the lane, snow is glistening
it's yellow not white, I've been there tonight
marking up my winter wonderland
Smell that tree? - that's my fragrance
it's a sign for wandring vagrants
"avoid where I pee, it's my property
marked up as my winter wonderland"
In the meadow dad will build a snowman
following the classical design
then I'll lift my leg and let it go man
so all the world will know that it's
mine-mine-mine
Straight from me , to the fence post
flows my natural incense boast
"stay off my turf, this small piece of earth
I marked up as my winter wonderland"
Enjoy!!! :D :D :D :D
Margot (going back to put some more Factor 15 on!) :D :D

Awww Margot, I feel all Christmassy now :D :D

sunshine? 32 degrees? I am beginning to think that the weather man is plotting against us poor Northerners!!!
I love that song I am going to print it out and put one in all my Christmas cards!!!! :P

I would rather it was 12 degrees and wet .....and so would the dawgs!

What a great idea Natalie! Love that one too!
Sarah.
Margot Love the ditty. Yop very hot here, although it is clouding over. I have just escaped the kitchen while my last batch is in the oven so beginning to cool down a little :)
Lovely here :D
Just spent 5 hours laying on the beach reading a Tad Williams.
I loathe winter ( I suffer from S.A.D. ) and I hate christmas.
Humbug :D
I like all weather but in the right months! I like it to be cold and snowing at Christmas, I like it to be warm and dry in the Summer, I even quite like the cold crisp days of Autumn and Spring, but I don't like it when it is wet and stormy in August or warm and mild in January!
Crikey Nat give me a chance Im still run off my feet with dog shows! I have ordered the christmas stuff to sell on my website. But I normally make most of our Christmas presies and I havnt even thought about it :0

I love christmas.Everything about it.
I used to trim my tree with all the rosetts my dogs had won and it looked great.
I also think of the time when we used to get half crown some chocolate money apple and orange in stocking and think we had everything.
We used to make decorations .Paper chains.Everyone was in the same boat.
My Sunday evening was walking with my dad and counting christmas trees in the windows.
Happy times.
Then we where happy with the small things in life.
Dog
Dog I don't remember the "we were happy with an orange and an apple" part - although my mum does - but we used to make paper chains, and my mum still uses the angel that my 32 year old sister made when she was 5!!! And I have some wooden soldiers that my mum used to use on her tree that her mum gave to her the first Christmas she had been married to my dad! I will admit to going way over the top with everything, we live in your average 1950's 3 bed semi and some how every year we squeeze 4/5 trees in here, but at the same time I enjoy the smaller things, like sitting on Christmas Eve with the curtains shut, fire on, tree lights on, good film on, stuffing chocolates in where you didn't think room before, everyone is laughing and joking, you have that smell that only smells like Christmas!
Ohhh I had better stop this now, else we will be having Christmas at the weekend!!! :D :D :D
Crap on telly, overeating and unwanted visitors. Ban Christmas !
Bah, Humbug ! :-)
Gah, you misery :p What, kids excited, lots of yummy food freshly cooked and smelling gorgeous, warm snuggles in the evening with the pups not enough you scrooge :D
As for unwanted visitors, there is a lock on the front door you know ;)
Must remember to remove the doorbell and knocker this year . . . .
so when do you intend to go shopping this year or is that banned too ;p
Ahh you big old spoil sport :P LOL

I LOVE christmas too!!! :D :D Christmas music, loads of decorations and watching "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby, over and over again!!! Bliss!!! :D :D :D
I love everything, the smell of the turkey cooking (it never smells like that in the year when you cook turkey!!!) the spouts bubling away, Christmas pud warming up, even though I don't like it, I have to have a mouthfull after dinner!! Sorting all of Thomas' presents on Christmas Eve so they look great for him in the morning! The whoe atmosphere is great, even all of the Christmas Scrooges come round by Christmas Eve!!! Christmas crackers, they are so great with their cr*p jokes and stupid hats that everyone wears!!!
Even the little bits of wrapping paper left on the floor that you resist hoovering because it is Christmas Day, and then when everything is in a rush when dinner is about to be served you have to have a quick wizz round with the hoover!!!
I love it!!! :D :D :D
Hoovering is over-rated :) Seriously, all the bits and pieces that can be picked up by hand are done, anything else stays there until at least the 27th - with 3 kids and 2 dogs there is going to be more mess added to it all over christmas day and boxing day so it just stays there, sorry but christmas and housework doesn't have the same ring as mistletoe and wine :D
Tara x
edited to add - this also has 'nothing' to do with the fact that come christmas lunchtime I'm a little tipsy on red wine so couldn't find the hoover even if I did want to use it LOL :D
LOLOLOLOL :D
I end up having to do it, I can't stand it to be messy - how I am going to be when the dog get's ere I don't know!!! I do enjoy doing my housework

, so it won't be too bad!!!
