We have just had our 10 month old Rottie spayed on Friday.  We wrere told that her operation was very 'vascular' and that she took longer than normal to recover so they gave her extra morphine, in adddtion she was dischsraging some extra bllod (whihc stopped latter the same day).  She is gradually geeting more subdued and we took her back to the vet today and her tummy is very swollen and we have been instructed to confine her to one room.  Has anyone else had any expoerience of this? Do you have any advice?

When was her last season? I believe that when a dog is spayed near to her season the blood vessels are more dilated and there is more of a risk. I could be  way off the track there though.
