Please could someone help me, my westie is 2 years old and has never had any skin problems. Just recently he has developed a bald patch about 2 inches in diameter on the top of his hind leg, I have taken him to the vets and they do not know what it is, I was given some anti fungal shampoo and have used this 3 times now but the patch is getting bigger and another small one has appeared on his rump. He has frontline regular so he does not have any fleas and he is also wormed regularly. I have not given him anything different to eat or washed his blankets in anything different. I am really worried about him. It dosen't seem to bother him and his skin looks fine, I would be so grateful if anyone could give me some advice or knows what this could be. Kindest regads, Jenny

Hello Jenny. Sorry to hear about your westie. My westie has a current skin problem and has area on his front legs which he has chewed that much he is bald. However if your vet has said that he doesnt know what it is, maybe it is not a skin issue. On the other hand you may need to get a second opinion!
It sounds as if your westie does have a skin problem but I am no expert. I think that it may be a case of wait and see how your westie gets on.
Hope your westie gets better soon.
