... the summer holidays have gone quick?  My lot are back on Monday.  I know we have been showing most of the summer but even so it has flown by. :)
- By Natalie1212 Date 30.08.05 16:04 UTC
I am not normally one for moaning about the kids, but the quicker they go back to school the better!!! It has cost me over £30 keeping them busy washing my car, mowing the lawn etc.!!! Nearly everyday they knock on the door to see if anything else needs doing!!! Bless 'em!! :D
- By polly_45 [gb] Date 30.08.05 16:27 UTC
Hooorrrahhhh they are back at school here from tomorrow onwards. peace and quiet and no dogs moaning to play ball with them on village green

Think of the positive side. I love the summer holidays no routine no after school activities.  The kids have been brilliant bless them.

It's gone too fast!
Back to college on Monday :(
- By sandrah Date 30.08.05 20:09 UTC
Back to it taking me an hour to get to work, rather then the 20 minutes during the last six weeks :(
- By craigles [gb] Date 31.08.05 05:49 UTC
I think it's gone quick, but I love the not having to be up on time for school.  Daughter is starting the High School on Friday, bit of a silly day to start but she is so excited, she worked hard to get there and everyone is very proud of her.  I guess I won't have to take her for much longer nor pick her up as she's already asked me to wait at the shop that is near to the school and not the school gates on Friday!

The holidays have flown by for me too.
I've really enjoyed having the kids home and it's been really nice not having having to rush around but I'm looking forward to getting back in a routine now. My house is in chaos (more than usual) so I can't wait til I can get things straightened out again. That is sad!

Feel really sad that ours will be going back on the 6th (well two of them will, the other not till the 8th) it's been lovely having them home and hearing the wonderful sounds of children giggling, playing, shouting, arguing, moaning....sorry, not really as they have been great and I can't wait till the half term.

The house will seem so quiet without them and I know the pup will go mad for the first few days as they will be no kids to play ball with :(

My daughter has been back for a fortnight and is off for the weekend on a school trip! An adventure holiday, too, so I'm looking forward to hearing about the abseiling, canoeing.....sitting at the side watching everyone else because she's too frightened to try anything

I'll really miss not having my two at home, have really enjoyed spending more time with them but I won't be sorry to see all the other kids go back that have been knocking on my door for them to play all day, tearing round my garden and giving me a masive headache  :D
- By jackyjat [gb] Date 03.09.05 12:05 UTC
I'm really sad that mine is going back, it's been a great summer with a welcome change from the usual routine.

It's big school for him next week and he's been learning to do up a tie!  Only another few years and that will be my summers changed for ever.  I've had someone at the local primary for the past 18 years and I can't believe I won't be going on my daily walk past the gates anymore.

Sally if they are likely to need special needs education post 16 make sure you start the process several years before it is due as you may well come up against a nightmare scenario with funding in Wales!
- By sally35 [gb] Date 03.09.05 18:21 UTC
they are both been placed in mainstream schools at the moment with funding in place (i hope)because they only have moderate learning difficulties, and they don't have any mld schools in wales,
thanks for the advice,
sally

My two have gone back today and my youngest is joining her older brother up at the high school this time. Bless she was nervous and excited at same time. And yes I think the holidays have gone really quick. Poor pup seems lost without the kids, as when we got her they were only in school for 3 days before summer holidays started so she is looking a bit lost at mo, without them.

Gonna go and take her out for a walk in park before playing on Sims 2

Downside to kids going back to school, no more nice empty roads allowing us to get to work quicker and still leave later in the morning.  It took me an age because of all the 4x4's and people carriers with just mother and 1 child in them, what really annoys me is the parking, when they just stop in the middle of the road and let the kids out without a thought for whoever is behind them.  I have to pass three schools to get to work no matter which way i go and i start at 8.30 a.m.  Sorry about the rant but its so fraustrating after all these weeks of driving bliss.  I also can't believe the amount of people who drive their childrent to school who only live a five minute walk away (and they don't continue on to work afterwards but go back home).  Bet i'm in for some telling off now.
- By Tippytoes [gb] Date 06.09.05 10:19 UTC
We are lucky here, no traffic problems. :)
Because we live in a village, all the children are taken to school by the school bus.
Lovely quite roads for us :D

Well, I have just been over to the nursery and my son starts (for the first time) next Wednesday morning! Awww he has to have a little uniform and everything!! :)

Oh my little baby is growing up :( he is so excited though!!! He cried his eyes out when we came out because he didn't want to come home!!! ;) The first thing he said when he ha stopped crying was, "can I bring my new friends home for tea Mummy?"!!! LOL

From my point of view, what am I going to do with myself when he is at nursery? I will be OK when we get the dog, but what about until then???

Sorry for rambling!!!
- By BoxerLuv [gb] Date 06.09.05 12:23 UTC
My yougest went back today, she has just gone up to year 1, she was quite scared about it though. As soon as she spotted her friend they grabbed hold of each other and hung on for dear life :) Bless them. I'm sure she will be fine though when she gets used to it though :)
- By Natalie1212 Date 06.09.05 12:42 UTC
I always liked the first day back, finding out your new timetable and who is in your class and everything else, and then by the second day I was ready for summer holidays again :D
- By ice_queen Date 06.09.05 12:24 UTC
You could try and teach the cat some tricks natalie! :D  Like not climbing the curtain!!!!! :D

Holidays went too fast but this is my second day into school already!!!! We got timetables today and I have every tuesday and wednesday morning off and one friday every two weeks only one lesson in the morning!!!!!!!!!!!! :D  This last school years going to go so fast and before I know it I'll be seeing if I can go to uni!!!!!  WOW scarey!
- By Natalie1212 Date 06.09.05 12:35 UTC
LOL that cat is way too lazy to do tricks!!! Apart from the odd curtain climbing she does and chasing daddy-long-legs around the garden in the evening, she doesn't move all day just stays curled up in her bed asleep!!!
- By ice_queen Date 06.09.05 12:42 UTC
oh what the life...... Do you think technology would alow me to swap lives with a cat!!! :D
- By Natalie1212 Date 06.09.05 12:43 UTC
Maybe you could invent it, and then you could be a lazy, very rich cat!!! ;)

Yep its gone too quick. I have a school opposite me which is a joint infant/middle school and the rubbish is already appearing from drink bottles to paper to gloves :( The footpath sign is also ripped down and I saw the little devils that did this but the good old child protection act stops me when I feel like dragging them down the school. Some of the parents are the same but its the same few that do all this. I'm going to collect the rubbish and take it down the school soon and ask nicely if something can be done. There's a bin by the gates as well, why can't people be more aware of the environment :(
Thankfully 99% of the kids and parents are great but its amazing how much trouble just a handful can cause. Roll on the next holiday!!
