Well i got out of the sunny side of the bed this morning,plus its a very nice morning here in sunny lancashire

Bed...I was woken up by my brother who nicely told me my driving instructor was hear and ready for my lesson!   woops!!!!! LOL  Nevermind!

Some advice to stop getting out on the wrong side....put your bed next to a wall with right side facing out!!! :D :P

Ooh I thought the topic might be rude, and didn't dare open for ages.

I sleep in the middle of my bed and if I haven't shut them in teh kitchen I usually ahve Jozi companionably sunggled against my back or with her back to me against my stomach.

Your not the only one Brainless :D I thought it was literal too. In the middle with a dog each side is a bit warm in this weather :D

Does it count if you have just broken something quite expensive and are being plagued by flys but are still happy? Or should that be deranged :D

Now that is another topic.  With a litter of pups about at the stage where they are playing outside I have noticed the flies this eyar something terrible, green shiny ones too.  Now I ususally do poo patrol first thing in the morning, and if it rains perhaps not until the next morning, and nver had this fly problem before?

I am out there cleaning up the puppy (and adult poo all day) cleaning with detergent, bleach and odorkil, and there are swarms of them.

Thoguth it was just me, but the freidn a few doors up who has a lovely new pation and a toddler with two dogs is picking uyp the poo as soon as it is deposited yet has noticed the fly plague too?

I think it is just the time of year. Trouble is I hate using sprays so I have to obliterate those in the house with my swatter :D :D

I use flypapers - though you have to be careful not to walk into them! Yeurch!

I have just got 30 with my swatter. Dont ask why but I dont like them buzzing as they die slowly on paper,  but it is getting silly here so I may have to resort to that.

Ooh, will you be making Garibaldi biscuits with them? :D

I absolutely hate flies and they seem to be more numerous here too :( 

I keep most of them out with a 'curtain' on the back door - you know the ones, used to be really popular in the 60's, lots of 1" wide coloured plastic strips on a wooden dowel above the door.  The dogs have learned to ignore them now (bitter apple works)

But still we've had a few in :(  and I just have to get them with a fly swat, my son loves this as I hunt them 'Ninja' style :D :D (think tubby Ninja ;) )  he thinks its hysterical :)

Anyone know where I can buy a Blue and White door 'curtain'?

Funny enough these ones seem to be outdoor flies, green shiny ones, only seem to get the black ones indoors :D

Morning, folks!  I've consumed my 2 cups of coffee (not walked the girls yet, though!)

Funny what you are saying about flies - it had got to the point when I absolutely HAD to get a can of fly spray.   I hate the little blighters so much, I'm prepared to inflict chemical warfare on them - a total nuclear attack!   First of all, I go round, closing all windows.   Then I ensure that all cats and dogs (and human beans ;) ) are evacuated to a safe place.   Then I put on a dust mask and, starting at the top of the house, open each door in turn, go to the furthest corner, and back out, spraying all around as I go, firmly closing the doors behind me.   I come down the stairs backwards, again spraying as I come down, and go through each room downstairs in the same manner, backing out of each one, until the kitchen is the Last Hiding Place for any flies still left flying.   A sharp burst into each corner of the room, and exit out the back door.

I then stand outside, doing my fly war dance, and after about 10 mins enter again, first opening windows again, and then sweeping up the dead flies.    Very satisfying. :D

I still cannot understand why, if God created all creatures, each with a purpose - what the **** is the purpose of flies?   I intend to interrogate St Peter about that if I reach the Pearly Gates ;)

I use Vapona window stickers...the ones that look like sunflowers. Very effective but I do hate having to go around and remove all the fly corpses from all over the house :(

I couldn't find those this year ... usually have them in the Utility room!

Lovely day for being next to a swimming pool etc.  Baking at work here, boss says everyone can go early becasue of the heat except one person who has to stay to answer the phones.  Now i wonder who that will be, it will be the usual "you've got no children only dogs", but today the worm will turn, and tomorrow world domination (if that's alright with everyone else!!!!)
