According to my dog breed book, Wheaton Terriers are always Wheaton in colour with no exceptions. You may find this web site interesting

Ali I am not sure if the guest is talking about Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier or Scottish Terrriers in the wheaten colour. Not sure if the guest might be American either in which case it might be something else altogether, I think they need to register and tell us more, otherwise I would suggest contacting the Breed Club in what ever country you are in to ask about these pups.

What exactly do you mean by a Wheaten Scotch Terrier

Scottish Terriers come not only in black but brindle and wheaten as well. However to have pure whites with black pigmentation must be quite a sight. Not sure whether its a 'correct' colour according to the standard but would love to see a piccie!

Hi
If the Scotties are of British lines, then wheaten pups start off with black masks on their noses, ears, tail. They look like siamese kittens! If they are of American lines then they tend to start out white, although you can quite often get blacks and wheatens in the litter with the bits inbetween too.
I breed black and brindle Scotties, some of my blacks have a white patch on their chest which usually fades to black by the time they are two. Perhaps its the reverse with the wheatens?
