Hi all
I was wondering if anyone had done this. I was visiting one of my puppy owners last week and I mentioned that I would love to see all the puppies from Maddie's litter together again. She suggested we should have a christmas party for all the puppies and their new owners. I'd also like to give the new owners a chance to meet each other so they can discuss their puppies with each other as well as me. The puppies will be 9 months old at christmas and I'd love to see how they are all maturing. I don't think it is something I would do every year but as this is our first big litter I'd love to have a wee get together. Just wondered if anyone else has done this and how it went.
All replies gratefully received :D :D

I'ev done it both at a show and at home. The show was utter chaos with an entire puppy class of siblings going mad. Fortunately the Judge was a good friend who laughed as much as anyone. The reunions at home have also been chaos but the pups and people all enjoy themselves enormously. :) :)

How far apart did your puppy owners live from each other. I would love to do this bu mine tend to disperse to the four corners of the country and some further. I ahve a job to get a photo out of soem of the owners even though when I speak to them they always promise.

Mine go to all arts and parts too but by throwing the house open for a weekend and asking people to make a mini holiday of the reunion we get a good number to visit at least once. Some want to make a proper holiday of it and we are lucky in having a nice but reasonably priced pub/hotel nearby that actively welcomes dogs. We also live near two good camp sites and some of our owners have brought their caravans. We can't get them all back of course - one of my last litter is 10 hours drive away - but its good fun to get as many as possible together. :)

I suppose I am fairly lucky in that most the new owners don't live more than a couple of hours drive away. I'm hoping to see at least three of them at the weekend as there is an agricultural show on the doorstep of two of my new owners and the other one has been taking her puppy out to as many of these shows as she can manage so her girl is really well socialised. I have had lots of pictures and emails from all my new owners, one even has a wbsite so she can put updated piccies on regularly, which is fab as she got my only boy and I don't want to miss seeing him growing up completely. I'll put some thought into it and ask the owners what they think too. I was thinking it might be an idea to hire the hall where my local ring craft is held as I don't really think my house could cope with my 3 adults and 7 rowdy 9 month old puppies :D :D

What a great idea!! :D I would love to do something like that, but most of my pups siblings are too far away!!! :-( If your pups owners are pretty close, then i think it would be a lovely thing to do. See how they all compare etc. :D

A lady with TM's has puppy parties in her garden, with as many puppies as she is able to get, from the pictures they look great fun

Hi Alli,
I think that's a lovely idea! Even if just 2 or 3 turned up, then it would be worth it I am sure.
I do the same with my puppy classes, but it is different ofcourse, as they are all local. We go for a walk in the fields, which allows the dogs to roam free and for me to mingle and talk to the owners to see how their dogs are progressing.
All the best,
Patty
We took our pup on Tuesday to see her sister, and one of her aunts was there and a litter of new pups 7 wks old there were only the two in my pups litter but it was lovely to see them together and for the breeder to see how our pup was getting on we also took lots of piccies, had a great couple of hours, good if you can do it.
I meet up with 3 of the other litter members every other week as we all go training together. 2 pups are owned by the breeders and one other guy takes his puppy. It is so sweet seeing them all together as we compare notes to see what they all do and how they progress.
I'd say it was a great idea and would recommend it.
funny you should start this thread we went to devon for the weekend and decided 2 call in on his breeder on the way back in gloucester for the first time since we had him 18 months ago! we have sent her pics and letters etc but she said he was the last one of that litter that she hadnt seen lol

Jojo had a reunion with 3 of his litter mates at the breeders house. They were the most playful bunch , oddly enough he was very submissive towards his mother , he would just roll on his back at sight which he never does. He's a tough guy!

I think its brilliant to do this. I would love to see my westie's brother and 2 sisters. Maybe someone could set up a website where you could do this - on the lines of a certain people reunited theme! I would love to see if mack's siblings are in any way like him.
