Hi
Can anyone help me -i have a 6 month olden golden who has has cronic diarhea.  We keep taking her to the vets, and she is put on antibiotics, which make it stop immediately, but as soon as she finishes her course it immediately comes back.  Her poo contains mucus(jelly like product), and sometimes melena (dark blood).  We have been given ampicillin and salaazopyrin tablets for her.  We have been told to give her half a sachet of Lacto B & half a Yakult on every meal when she has only three days antibiotics left.
She isn't losing any weight, but does become lethargic when her tablets stop.
She is on her fourth course of tablets in the last 6 weeks. 
She is being fed on Wafcol salmon & potato, which is the only food she has ever taken to (she gets diarhea if she has anything with chicken in)
I think she may have small intestinal bacterial overgrowth - does anyone have any advice please?

The only puppy I ever knew with this condition did make a good recovery, but only after long term anti biotics.  Interestingly, she was also a GR......
