Can anyone recommend a good pair of nail clippers (medium collie dog) , the mikki ones aren't very good and I'm not keen on the guillatine (not spelt right I know) type.
As some of my dogs nails are black if filing a better option?

We use a Dremmel to file our dogs black nails. The dogs seem much happier with that than they were when they were cut.
Try hub international at shows or online. They have a good range of clippers.
I don't have anything to add but I do have a Q's on this same subject, and that is has anyone used the NAIL GRINDERS?
And what do you think of them, I think for me they would be better then sniping the nail off and less risk of the toe nails bleeding.
My Lab hates having her nails cut and the sound of the nail clippers when I cut them, I have NEVER cut to close to the quick to course pain its just her dislike of having her nails cut, when I do go to cut, at the last minute she moves her paw and I nearly end up taking her whole toe off LOL.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a Website that sells them? I have had a look on the HUB Website, they do sell them but there is no pictures of the nail grinders.

Hi,
Most folks in my breed use a "Dremel" which is a small DIY tool and easily found in B&Q, Argos etc. They used to be cheaper than nail grinders (had mine quite a few years now) and presumably as a DIY tool have uses round the home (not that I've tried that part out  )
Regards, Teri :)
I've used the sanding tool on a dremmel equivalent but cheaper. I bought it from Woolworths a year ago for a tenner. I think they have the same thing at Argos.
Thanks for the replies,
Is there any pictures of the Dremmel or the other one made specificly for dogs?
I have not yet been able to find a picture of either.
Thanks
P.S. Just poping off to check if I have a ARGOS catalogue.

Simpsons do a good one ( under the label is says dremel) but you the parts you need and also a stand for the grooming table. Was actually cheaper from them than buying for a DIY store.
