Hi not sure where to post this so feel free to move it anywhere else.
What do most of you carry your grooming equipment in when going to shows. So far I have tried 4 different bags and not happy with any of them. Wot do you lot recommend

I use a small flight bag with water for me & dogs water bowl (small) towel (dogs) small bag containing pain tabs. plasters, tampax, spare kinckers & socks, and antihistomin for dogs or me, benching chain. And in that a bank cash bag with the ring tack and grooming gear. Also have a food bag with my lunch. Some people use a rucksack it's up to you. Avoid a large bag you will only fill it and have to carry it. JH

I read that as tampax and knickers for the dogs or you :D
I blame Beth, she started it :D :D :D

Hi Carol
We use a brief case type grooming box which has loads of sections and slots for your scissors, combs etc (not convenient for UK shows and travelling though). When we are away, I use a Bakers Complete bag (which we got at Crufts for £1) and chuck everything in !!! :D

It must depend how much grooming you do at the show, mine consists of removing mud, if pos, and a flick over with a slicker. If you have a breed where you are going to spend a hour at the show on the grooming then I quess you need a bigger box.
Fifi, socks, pants etc. are for the dog, of course, have you never watched Elkhounds being judged, they all have light grey socks it's compulsory. :D Jackie H

Yes I have one of those dogs that needs 'one hour' before showing to bring out the best in her - a tibetan terrier, who problably the day before the show and after her bath has decided to bring most of the garden in doors with her either caught up in her hair or on her paws, just to spite me - tibetan terrier more like terror :D

I have seen fishing tack boxes used!
thank god for a wash and wear breed. Towel, slicker and comb and that's it!

Or pinky brown spotted ones if you were at Bath!

Barbara - the mud at Bath matched well with my hounds!

To carry my doggy gear I use a bag with both a shoulder strap and a
hand carrying strap (flight bag type). I may well have a smooth coated
breed but I still have various thing in my doggy bag.
Water bottle, Water bowl, benching chains, show leads, bait, 'poo' bags,
grooming brush, chami (spelling?) etc.
Pam

I carry a rucksack with a stool attached. Very little in there is grooming stuff though! Blankets (2halves of an old check travel rug) chains, spare leads, paw wax, grooming powder (useless at bath), water dishes, bait etc etc etc. bit like a handbag really,,once it goes in it never comes out!
