What is a premier open show??? I read on another thread that a dog can qualify for Crufts at a Premier open show if it won Best of breed. My boy won Best of breed at an open show earler this year. I have never heard of the title Premier open Show??? Someone educate me please!!!!!!
Keeping it simple. Some open shows have been given premier status. This means that if you get best of breed in the breeds indicated, it qualifies you for crufts.
There are only a certain number of breeds at each premier show that are qualifiers so you have to check the schedule carefully.

Premier open show has been given the status. Those breeds scheduled with 4 or more class (unless breeds in stud book band E where it is 5 or more classes) the BOB winner can qualify for crufts. A premier open show will have on the frount of schedule and cataloge "premier Open Show" a normal open show will be "Open Show"
Hope you understand that. The KC do not make it easy for the new come-ers to understand!!!!!!!

When a boy I bred won in such a case, they gave out certificates stating that this was a Crufts qualifier. Didn't take much notice as didn't matter in his case, but I think it was a KC certificate, so assume you would have received the same if it was relevant?
Hope that's helpful?

Thats a good point. It was an A5 certificate (Normal green KC background)
Thats for making it a bit easier to understand. I have the catalogue in front of me from the show and it states open show. So we haven't qualified then! Thanks for the advice guys. Clare
