I want to take out some pet insurance on my 2 year old lurcher, Riker.
The three companies I'm considering are Marks & Spencer, LLoyds TSB and Virgin Finance. Virgin Finance has an excellent package it seems:

On their Accident & Illness Extra, and quoted a very reasonable 12.50 per month. TSB have quoted a little over 9.00 for their basic package, and M&S give a remarkable 8.36 per month for their package!

I've heard good things about M&S. Does anyone have experience with them, and indeed the other companies here? Any advice would be appreciated!
All i would say is ........ read the small print!!! A lot of companies offer reasonable premiums as they don't cover any ailments after 12 months. If you put Dog Insurance in Search, you'll find lots of info there.
Good Luck in your search, am with More Than, and they have brilliant,,,,,,,,, so far ;)

That's what attracted me to Virgin - they say they cover the ailments unlimited time :) Of course I'm rubbish with the fine details hence I hope someone will let me know if I'm mistaken, lol!

I have my 5 with M&S. I went with them because you can get a no excess policy and lifetime illness cover.

Hiya
I am with M and s but the way I understood it was that it is a 12 month policy renewed each year. Ifyour dog develops a condition(say diabetes) they will pay for treatment for 12 months but when policy is renewed it would be a pre existing condition and therefore not covered. Not sure now but thats how I interpreted small print.

Sainsbury's is also very good. Lifetime cover, cover per condition (doesn't stop after 12 months) and VERY cheap premiums.
I am going to go with M&S once my free Kennel Club cover expires. I did intend to renew with the Kennel Club, but when I checked the policies against one another I much preferred M&S and have read very good feedback for them on this forum.
Im with M&S they are very good, I pay the maximum so I have no excess, it is about £10 per dog for my three dogs. I recently claimed £600 from them (only been with them about 2 months), they paid up no problem and straight away. I have two dogs with Pet Plan aswell, they are always trying to split the claim so you pay more excess, mine has just gone up to £90 on the standard cover. I have to have those two dogs with Pet Plan because one has had cancer and the other one has fits, so no other insurance company will insure those illness' so Im totally stuck! Which is probably what Pet Plan want!

Thanks to the information here I have decided to go for M&S. It cost me 100 pounds for a year's cover for Riker, with no excess. I'm thoroughly pleased with it! :)
I must add that I wouldn't have gone with them if it wasn't for the large numbers of positive reviews and the positive feedback they have received. It far outstrips other companies. Hopefully they will live up to this good reputation, then again I have to say hopefully I won't have to find out ;)
