I've got two dogs (1 bitch, 1 dog)..she's been with us nearly a year and he's just joined us - last saturday.  They get on well! She's not great with kids and he is great with them! My question, I want to take him to meet my family (with kids) at the weekend and leave her behind with husband! Is it too soon in settling in process to do this?!? (I mean for the dogs not the husband!!!!)

IMO I think it would be fine. 1. great for socialization and 2. It would be good for them to get used to being apart once in a while. Maybe you could take the new one out before you go away on its own for a time so it's not too much of a shock?

Hi Zoe...thanks for your advice!  I took the new one away for w/e and it worked out brilliant! My family all loved him even one of the boys who used to be terrified of dogs.  Again thanks!
